Over at Fundies Say the Dardest Things back in April my good friend and sometime mentor SatisfiedHousewife got her own little post. Mark Jr., owner/operator of I See It Differently blog this week made a comment directed to me (scroll down at FSTDT to see it.) And little Markie DOES see it differently.
I’m going to walk you lucky readers through his comment and see if we can explore the shallows of his mind. His comments are in italics and mine are, of course, in BOLD, cause that’s the way I roll.
You don’t go to hell for not subscribing to a religion. You go to hell for being a lawbreaker and violating God’s law.
Actually if there is a “hell” (other than the grave—the most common meaning of the word in the KJV) you “go” there because you are not one of God’s children. Since everyone by the Biblical definition is a lawbreaker, then, by your simple definition, everyone is destined for hell.
And, whether you want to call is a religion or not, then you go to hell for not subscribing to a system of belief (religion).
You lie, steal, murder (hate in the heart and unjustified anger), commit adultery (lusting after others), make a false god (“MY god would never make a hell”), take His name in vain, and many other ways. You do it every time knowing it’s wrong, so you’re crime is sinning with knowledge that it’s wrong. Violating conscience (con=with, science=knowledge) means you sin with knowledge. This is the problem, not a lack of subscription to a religion.
Hmmm…have you been reading my diary? Last time I checked I haven’t done any of those things nor have I said I have—and it is only a sin to lust after a woman who is married to someone else. Look it up. Personally I have been cruising Match.com, cause “it’s OK to look.”
Taking God’s name in vain. Do you have any clue what that means? Give it some study, cause it has nothing to do with cursing.
Jesus talked more about hell than heaven. Don’t believe me, look for yourself. He warned repeatedly and told us how to avoid it.
The word “hell” appears a grand total of 12 times in the Gospels. The word “heaven” appears 138 times. Don’t believe me, look for yourself. Are you so full of self-condemnation you can’t see this simple truth? Seems like it.
He didn’t start a religion, He opened up a way of life that brings you His salvation, which because of your purposeful sin against him, you need.
This is why non-Christians think you’re silly Mark. By ANY neutral definition of religion, Jesus (or at least the apostles) started a religion. I can’t understand why that concept escapes you. Any system of belief practiced by adherents is, by definition, a religion.
But let me flip the question back to you—if he didn’t start a religion, what did he start? (remember to use “real” not “pretend” definitions…)
Her quote wasn’t even given it’s context, so Mr. Whore is being deceitful and performing his lovely slanted journalism. That’s cowardly. You make it sound as if she just showed up one day and said that and left. Stupid.
Actually it’s Mr. Church. I am the church.
I’m having trouble seeing how the context of her quote in any way changes what she wrote.
Please explain my deceit and stupidity. I mean, unlike you, I know the difference between “your” and “you’re”, “its” and “it’s.” Unlike you I didn’t take 2 years to figure out the whole prophetic/Toronto/etc. movements were bogus. Unlike you I wasn’t deceived into drugs.
[Note to non-Marks: Check out Mark's about page for reference here.]
Maybe you’re right; maybe I am stupid and set out to deceive people. Then again, maybe I am trying with all my heart to get people inside the Church to leave behind the crap and start being little Christs. (Just like the one on the dashboard only more “lifey”)
You see Markie-poo, I know I’m evil. More evil than you can comprehend. The reason you can’t comprehend how impossibly evil I am is because you are unable to see how impossibly evil you are. The reason I picked on Satisfied and you is because though you are blind you claim to see—and attempt to instruct others.
Now at this point you will say, “No, I know how evil I am.” I’ve read your blog. You have no clue. Not a clue. You don’t even comprehend how much of what you do is still driven by ungodly shame and fear rather than commitment to Christ.
It will be a while before you understand that, but file it away.
And you know what? She’s right. He loved Hitler and Mousolini (spelled right?) and Pol Pot. He loved Judas.
God says there are people he hates. Look it up. I don’t know that he loved Hitler, Mussolini (I might be stupid, but I can spell that one) or Judas. You get a gold star if you can come up with a list of people in the Bible God says He hates.
His love is available to all, but not many are taking it because it requires your whole life and who wants to lay that down?
Me for one. I guess that concept, again, is lost on you. Stop judging by uninformed appearance.
You’d rather spank your monkey to porn than ask Him for the grace that will set you free from your sin.
Um, where did I say I even OWN a monkey? And if I had one, why would I spank it? And what does that have to do with porn?
[Takes trip to Urban Dictionary]
Oh, I get it. Masturbate. I do masturbate. So do you. So does every guy you know with a healthy libido. But I don’t spank my monkey to porn.
This is an interesting insight on the inner workings of your brain. Of all the potential sins you could have picked, your first choice is to go to porn inspired masturbation. We already know you masturbate—for you are the two inseparable? Is Jesus too weak in your life to free you from the need for those images?
Keep in mind you brought it up.
It’s your choice and your fault, not His. Everything that can be done for you HAS been done. Your in jail with a bail bondsman waiting to bail you out, but you won’t call him. He’s the lawyer who can represent you before the Judgment Bar and get you aquited, but you won’t call Him.
You have a spell checker but won’t use it.
His price isn’t church attendance or money in the plate or charity donations of feeding homeless people. It’s your life. It’s a trade off: your defiled life in exchange for His pure life AND the desire, power and ability to keep it clean. And when you screw up, He’s still there with mercy to forgive.
You just made a post on your blog about how you were sinning by not doing what your employer asked you to do. You did it for 3 months. Where was the Holy Spirit for those 3 months? Where was your purity? Where was your honesty? For those 3 months did Jesus not have the power to keep your life clean?
And I know His price isn’t church attendance, so I don’t go. It’s not money in the plate, so I don’t give to church organizations. It’s not feeding homeless people, I think it’s giving them a home. (Get it, they’re HOMELESS not HUNGRY. Get it?)
So, WC, be fair next time you quote someone instead of this slanted journalism bull crap you pulled off here. And give everyone the FULL truth, not just the happy and warm fuzzy parts. With all the love, mercy and joys there are many tough and demanding things to reckon with as well.
My Bible must be wrong. Maybe I’ve got a misprint. I thought once I learned to work under Jesus’ “yoke” I would find his yoke was easy and burden light? I thought I had already met all the righteous requirements of the law? I thought I was just a bunch of rearranged dust and God never forgets that? I thought all I needed to do was do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God?
What Bible do you have? Maybe you could send me a copy.
Or maybe you’ve inhaled a bit too much bug killer.
Basically, quit preaching a swiss cheese gospel (full of holes).
Wow, that’s for explaining what you meant by “swiss [sic] cheese,” because I thought at first as Peter was the apostle to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles, I might be the apostle to the cheese.
But then again, Swiss cheese doesn’t need salvation because Swiss cheese is holy.
June 11, 2007 at 7:33 pm
Whore Church,
You just spent a whole lot of wasted time trying to defend your idea of doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with your god?
If you are so sure you’re right why are you so defensive?
Cause you know there’s a chance your probably wrong.
June 11, 2007 at 7:41 pm
You’re right, of course, Mary. Your rapier wit and psychological analysis are dead on. I am now reduced to a crying pile of brokeness.
I MUST be wrong. That’s it. God made it so clear, yet I missed it. I missed all the words of condemnation intended for the children of God. God really is the disfunctional parent so many non-Christians accuse him of being. Accept me or I will kill you; mess up and I will reject you forever.
Thanks for clearing that up.
June 11, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Mark said “His love is available to all, but not many are taking it because it requires your whole life and who wants to lay that down?
Whore says “Me for one. I guess that concept again is lost to you. Stop judging by uninformed appearance.” giggle giggle – that’s a good one
whore. uninformed appearance… ha ha ha SNICKER SNICKER really funny!!
June 11, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Again Mary, you devestate me with your grey matter. Of course YOU know what a whore is, right? And you know who came up with the phrase “whore church,” right?
Tell me Mary from the depths of your understanding of me–what part of my life is not “laid down” for Christ? Enlighten me.
June 11, 2007 at 8:21 pm
“Oh, I get it. Masturbate. I do masturbate. ”
This gets the “please never share that again” award.
BTW it would be dishonest of me not to admit that I was the one who tipped her off that her comment had been posted there. I found it while searching for my own. I thought it only fair for her to have a chance to respond.
I do have to ask though, why you would post personal grievances there? Not that I dispute your grievance. It is simply that the fstdt.com comment board is home to some of the most hateful posters I have seen in a long long time. My own quote on that board (well out of context) got over 30 comments that ranged from claiming that I condoned sexual abuse of women to claims that I was unfit to be a father. Many of those folks seem very angry and very bitter.
It wouldn’t be you who posted the quotation of yours truly, would it?
June 11, 2007 at 8:48 pm
Hey Whore… I grew upin the whore church. I know who made it up. And I have to say yes… I agree with the term. Not that your a whore-but the catholic church is a whore.
“What part of your life is not “laid down’? Why not start with understanding scripture and our sin nature. There is none that does good, no not one.
ps53:3
It has been said you should not commit adultery and I tell you even if a man looks at a woman with lust he has commited adultery in his heart.
The human heart is desperately sick. Who can understand it?
I don’t feel like looking those verses up. Whore, we don’t hate you – we hate the church for deceiving by false doctrine and what it has done to you and my love ones and millions of people out there.
June 11, 2007 at 9:08 pm
I confess, I can’t find the quotes posted on the fstdt. I can’t agree/disagree with anyone in that regards.
I can’t condone what was said on fstdt. My beef with you is I think you are misunderstanding Mark and your theology has some flaws in it.
I don’t hate catholics and I don’t think they do either.
June 11, 2007 at 9:25 pm
Tranny,
If you said something stupid and it was FSTDT-able, I probably posted it there. Don’t remember for sure, but I did and will do so again. Just so you know.
Mary,
I don’t misunderstand Mark. Mark is not that hard to figure out. My theology doesn’t truly exist. I don’t have a theology, nor do I claim to. All I can do is try to figure out life one day at a time. I find it interesting many people come here seeking to criticize my “whatever” yet never seem to get to pointing out what they see as wrong.
And, yes, I mean you. (Just to be clear.)
I don’t hate Catholics, I hate the Catholic system. But I also see the same Catholic system running the institutional church today–even the Protestants. I do hate that.
June 11, 2007 at 9:28 pm
well, ok I lied … your theology is really messed up. Hey I almost became a nun.
June 11, 2007 at 9:46 pm
OK whore church,
I’m not really understanding how this all began – I just linked here from Mark’s blog.
Everyone has a theology of some sort. You just expressed some above.
But I ‘m going to drop the comments cuz I don’t think you are getting what Mark is saying.
I think you are totally misunderstanding him.
June 11, 2007 at 10:06 pm
Mary,
You take things far too seriously. Lighten up. Enjoy life. Get laid (within a hetero-married relationship of course.) “I just…” when you come here you are the source of our entertainment. I’m just hoping Mark comes so we can point and laugh at him as well.
Come back soon.
June 11, 2007 at 10:07 pm
Pope-inator,
Glad that you are back in the blogging saddle. Hope that in your service of mammon the past week you were able to scrape together the necessary ducats. It certainly is nice of those guys at the Turkish Bath House to leave a position open for you whenever you need.
My question for you is why do even engage in conversation with these people? Scratch that; I should not even call it a conversation because they are not interested in anything you have to say. They want to tell you what you should think, and if you don’t accept that you will burn in hell forever. For example this wonderful tidbit from FSTDT:
“Teens-4-Christ is not a ‘debate’ site. You will not change our minds, do not try. A quick read of Romans 1 will show that those who debate are in the company of adulterers, sodomites and murderers. Therefore, debating will not be allowed.”
BTW – I’m a theologian and that is some of the weakest interpretation of Romans 1 I have ever seen.
It just seems to me that any conversation with them on my or your part is nothing more than verbal masturbation (perhaps I shouldn’t use that word you might get all excited). No matter what truth we bring if it doesn’t jibe with their fundamental party line that they heard somewhere and defaulted to as their position then you are a heretic.
What’s the pay-off?
June 11, 2007 at 10:12 pm
Most I ignore Punisher, but I tend to judge it on how much traction a particular post or comment gets. In this case I only went back to FSTDT because my stats showed a significant number of hits from that particular post from MJ. In fact, that’s how I noticed it–from my stats.
I may be a small part of the Body of Christ (though parts of me are Ron Jeremy HUGE), I never forget that I was once a Fundy and want to make sure they get the chance to fully vent their rage. Only then can people see how un-Christ-like fundamentalism is–even based on a Biblical standard.
I don’t expect MJ will ever change, though I might be wrong, but those who he sends here might see a different perspective.
I am welcome everywhere Jesus is welcome. (And that statement just pissed off all kinds of fundys…)
June 11, 2007 at 10:21 pm
Yeah, Ron Jeremy is getting a pretty HUGE gut on him, though I wouldn’t brag about having the same hugeness if I was you!
You left the door WIDE open for the body of Christ jokes… but I’m not going there tonight.
June 11, 2007 at 10:29 pm
eeewwww, you guys are just soo cooool. The sad thing is part of what you say is right Agathos. But you all are too busy quoting stupid quotes people make and you don’t bother to read the word with a humble heart to see for yourself. And in so doing you condemn yourselves.
June 11, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Mary,
Wow. You know how I read the Bible just from one comment on this site? Do you realize how intellectually and spiritually arrogant that type of thinking is?
You know nothing about me, and yet you have already decided that I have “condemned” myself. Why don’t you leave those sort of decisions to God, he is a lot better at them than you.
If anything the sad part is the fundamentalist that WON’T listen to the Scriptures or to God because they have already made up their small mind as to truth, and have made God just as small.
Condemning me on one comment? You elevate yourself to the place of God, and as a corollary have taken on the same disposition as your father Lucifer.
I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
Just so you know the above paragraph is in the Bible, you probably don’t know from where without searching it on Google. But trust me it is in there.
(Ahhhhhh, that was fun. The wrong fundie girl got me on the wrong night.)
Do you see how easy it is to beat people up with truth. That is not what God or Jesus EVER intended. There is a truth that heals and there is a truth that hurts. Mary, you should start pursuing the truth the heals. I only framed my comment this way to show you how easy it is to use a scriptural passage and some Christianese to put people down with. That is not the Jesus way.
June 11, 2007 at 11:15 pm
oh your right whore. I’m sorry. I’ve never heard that passage of scripture you quoted above cause I’m a stupid fundie.
southern accent-
I should go do what? get what?? ohh my my, I’m aghast at such language like I have never heard that before. My, My, whore even though I see peoples brains hanging out of their ears and open heart surguries and naked bodies all the time.. My, My, my church lady demeanor is all a tither.
I am just no match for your master of witt. good night.
June 11, 2007 at 11:34 pm
A) You answer the wrong person in your post.
B) You do not give the slightest indication if you recognize Scripture as Scripture. I could be quoting Philo.
C) You can’t even spell wit properly. What are surguries?
D) Your charade of an answer avoids the issue, which is still better than the usual response of heretic and hell… but not much better.
E) After a period the next word is capitalized.
F) Mary, you are obviously bringing a slingshot to a tank fight.
G) Good night.
H) You may want to hang out at a site where people can’t think.
I) I probably just “condemned” myself. Right?
June 12, 2007 at 6:21 am
Mary can’t leave Punisher, she’s got to save a place until Mark Jr. gets here.
June 12, 2007 at 7:04 am
Did i miss a crucifixion?!
Damnit, I ALWAYS miss the good stuff!
(i need a pot of coffee to re-read this, and judge accordingly, lest i be judged, wait, i don’t wanna be judged, ah, sure i do, who am i kiddin — yes, coffee)
June 12, 2007 at 8:12 am
Agathos: *ROFL* I think you answered you own question about arguing “with those people,” eh?
I just wanted to pop in, and say, glad yer back, WC. Bloody Hell. It all gives me great material for my next ’bout of Tourette’s. Damn. And stuff. C#*$suckers!! *grin*
June 12, 2007 at 8:42 am
Okay, now i can’t post on my blog. What gives?
WC, i’m holding you personally responsible. This is what happens when you try to logically debate with servants of da’ devil. Blogs are clogged, absolute mayhem.
June 12, 2007 at 9:30 am
Wiggy,
If you go over to support and send them a missive they’ll fix it in a jiffy. At least they did with me. My guess is they are doing some upgrade (like moving some of the MySQL stuff or something) and the blogs have to be pointed to the new server.
Or it’s the Deevil.
June 12, 2007 at 9:44 am
Problems posting WC? Wiggy?
Random problem or act of God? You decide.
June 12, 2007 at 10:55 am
Well, they didn’t fix it in a jiffy, but i found the mia comments in my spam folder, which was very odd. I just sent support a ‘i figured it out/no worries, butcha might want to look into akismet’ email.
Weird.
Tranny, i emailed God, too. It read, ‘HEY! Not FUNNY!’
But he never responds — by email, that is. I’m sure i’ll hear something soon though, via phone, headache, or ovarian shut down. He’s predictable that way.
June 12, 2007 at 11:44 am
Call God on his cell. You DO have the number, don’t you?
June 12, 2007 at 12:05 pm
Are you kidding me???
I called him once.
How the hell do you think the creditors got my number?!
June 12, 2007 at 12:28 pm
Yeah Wiggy, you and Sara Silverman.
June 12, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Welcome back. Looks like you need a little prayer. I’ll rub some of my oil on the screen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Did that cure you from the presence of fundies?
June 12, 2007 at 4:58 pm
It’s like the parable of the wheat and the fundies. Let them grow together until harvest.
June 12, 2007 at 9:39 pm
so now that you are up and running, i have a question:
what is this about you post other peoples comments over at some fundie site?
man, give you a few days off working and you get all riled up!
i wonder if mary was fer real or just riling both you and agathos up?
i’m a little high on cough medicine, go easy on me kevin.
June 12, 2007 at 10:21 pm
When a fundy says something particularly stupid, I sometimes submit it to FSTDT.com. I don’t remember if I posted Statisfied’s comment there or if someone else did, but I certainly would have if it occured to me at the time.
Most of the time the posts I make over there are taken from forums of one kind or another.
June 13, 2007 at 2:36 am
Thanks. I’ve found a new home.
June 13, 2007 at 7:09 pm
Wow, this has been an interesting read.
June 16, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Thanks for the publicity.
There’s no spell checker on your comment deal.
Have great day!
mark jr.
June 16, 2007 at 7:15 pm
ok, i have another question, why at the fundie site there is a link to PETA?
then at the PETA site, a quote there, “we are not supposed to eat them”
If fundies believe the bible and bible say we can eat anything, why are they supporting PETA?
is it a joke?
what’s your thoughts, WC?
June 17, 2007 at 11:39 am
Mark,
“There’s no spell checker on your comment deal.”
Yeah Mark, spelin be two hard.
Kris,
We developed into omnivores. So it’s OK to eat people who belong to PETA.
June 17, 2007 at 8:19 pm
In Tennessee, it’s legal to pick up a dead person from the side of the road, and eat them. Thanks, Tim Burchett!
June 17, 2007 at 10:02 pm
i MEANT animals!
June 17, 2007 at 10:40 pm
Kris,
Humans are animals, but I assume you are asking about animals OTHER than humans. They’re OK to eat too. In fact, some are remarkably tasty.
September 18, 2007 at 12:19 am
you guys are silly.
Only a baby Christian will be swayed by somebody using Bible verses to disprove the Bible, and using verses to talk smack or argue a point you’ve already decided on is also just as silly.
If you start with an opinion that you want to find supported in the Bible, you will find something to validate yourself. It’s really long. Doesn’t make you special at all. or intelligent.
February 28, 2008 at 1:13 am
Masturbation is truly a gift from God, i masturbate all the time… sometimes my friends help me… and then sometimes we help EACH OTHER…
Sometimes we use each others mouths… sometimes even our waste orphices, and sometimes my female friends let me use their vagina’s
OH WAIT!!!!
WHAT?? SEXUAL IMMORALITY!??? NAAAA! IT’S ONLY MASTURBATION!!!
Get a grip, what do you think about when you masturbate? What do you desire??
I have to say, out of the things that you spewed form your mouth (for it’s not what enters the mouth that makes a man unclean) that was the most ridiculous
I suppose it’s ok to lust after naked woman as well, as long as they’re not married? LOOK IT UP!!! Don’t be stupid, LISTEN to jesus, you KNOW who said whoever lusts after a woman commits adultery in her heart..
Where’s your heart when your masturbating?
And Mark is making babies, i don’t think he “needs” to masturbate, but even if he wasn’t making babies, i’m sure he wouldn’t….
I heard that when a man masturbates he gets five times more the pleasure just in his mind, and 5 times more the addiction
Paul even said sexual sin messes with your soul (not a quote)
So dude, just that ALONE makes me think your pretty wacky (pun intended)
February 28, 2008 at 7:20 am
Did you cum up with that yourself? (pun intended)
February 28, 2008 at 8:49 am
Yes (pun intended)
