Joyce Meyer’s Pornographic Lifestyle

By WhoreChurch

One of my most visited and commented posts is one I did long ago on Joyce Meyer supporters–and how they are enabling Rev. Meyers and her posse to spread their non-gospel of riches and self-indulgence.

I got lots of comments saying “wow, you’re right” and many saying “only God can judge.”

For those in the latter group: Go read your New Testament. You are an ignorant rabble.

For the rest of you, here is a picture from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch of the Joyce Meyer “Compound” paid for and kept up with “ministry” dollars (click for complete details including values and key to who lives where…):

meyercompound.jpg

Before you post a comment condemning me, make sure you know your Bible. If you can’t figure out why anyone who calls themselves a follower of Christ should find this profound proof of her non-Christian values then you probably need to understand more of what it means to follow Christ.

might i borrow this on occasion, sir? it’s quite a clever thing, i must say.

  2. WhoreChurch Says:

Well, “intelligent rabble” or “informed rabble” just didn’t have the same ring.

  3. lauriekendrick Says:

    Joyce Meyer always confounded me.

For starters, she has that fuel injected Christian hair…as if helium and teasing brings one closer to the Lord. Then, there are the tacky ass rhinestones on all her suits and dresses. Does she have a message? I guess she does if you’re seeking one. I’ve never found her “ministry” to be all that redeeming.

My father is a born again evangelical Assemblies of God or some such sect. He likes Joyce Meyer and he finds Joel Osteen a little too contemporary for his well defined super Christian, bible spewing tastes.

Having been raised Catholic, I know that priests and nuns take a vow of poverty–which is interesting considering the vast wealth of the Mother Church. But I guess ever since the Bakker’s bastardized religion and became for profit prophets back in the 80’s, we’ve become jaded with Ecclesiastical superstars.

And their superstar bank accounts and “estates”.

I think there should be modesty exhibited by the these people. I don’t know what they do with their God and faith generated fortunes. I mean, I don’t who who or what they give to in terms of charities—if at all, but justifying it by telling your flock that God wants abundance for all of us is wrong. Half the people in their supposed flocks are in debt up to their asses and have no savings.

Yet Joyce and Joel and T.D. and Benny “The Hun” Hinn and others, make millions by groveling for 20 dollar donations from the dwindling next eggs of Grandma and great aunt Pearl. If that’s not a form of theft–in the most egregious sense, I don’t know what is.

    Personally, I resent it.

  4. WhoreChurch Says:

As far as I know, Pat Robertson was the first to propose monthly pledges. His 700 Club and eventually Christian Broadcasting Network were built with $20 widow donations.

But then sometime in the 80’s someone–I don’t know who came up with it first–realized that it was easier to get 20 people to give $1,000 than 1,000 people to give $20. The Genie was out of the bottle and the money poured in.

The key is to come up with a concept to entice the giver to give a certain amount. Being a “God’s Choice” giver meant $100 a month. You were given a special blessing from God. You had a special place in the Kingdom.

And the more sacrificial the gift, the more God will bless.

To pick pockets further they began to encourage people not to “store up wealth on earth, but send it to heaven where it will be waiting for them.” This trend went on for several years as people gave up their entire savings–sometimes in the $100’s of thousands–to these “ministries.”

In the last decade or so we have seen the emergence of “donor hit squads.” These are teams of 2-4 people who personally visit elderly previous donors of means to get them to sign over their estates to the ministry. The scam goes like this:

The visits begin innocently enough. The team just tells the mark they want to visit them and let them know how much not only God but the ministry appreciates them. This goes on for weeks or in rare cases months.

When the hit team begins to see the rapport growing between them and their wealthy mark, they begin to talk about how “Brother So-and-So” is so concerned about some ministry that is so important but is running out of money. It was OK now, but in the years to come there was no one to fund it.

They hint this is the “personal pet project” of Brother So-and-So.

Of course the mark says something like, “I wish there was something I could do to help…”

    Gotcha sucker.

Even ministries like Focus on the Family that seem to have a sterling reputation have teams just to help you plan “a benevolent gift upon your demise.” No foolin.

Why get a lawyer when FotF will do it for you for free? Will, estate planning, all free for the right donor.

    Just like Jesus.

Dan and Charity must be the least loved children. They get the sucky $200,000 home. If you look closely you can see me in the pool sporting my stylish blue speedo.

This gated community helps the Myers seperate themselves from the unwashed masses. I guess that folksy persona isn’t real. My heart is broken.

By the way since when does Focus on the Family have “a sterling reputation?”

  6. WhoreChurch Says:

FotF has a good reputation compared to other para-church organizations.

I’m obviously in the wrong profession. After I’m through here I will go shopping for a teasing comb, lots of eye make-up, tacky clothing, a bible. and throngs of gullible people.

Interesting you refer to the “marks” in this “scam”, which is right on the mark (pardon my pun). This scam works for the same reason non-religious scams work. They play on people’s greed and desire to get something the easy way. In this case that something is a large return on their earthly wealth and a fast track to heaven.

As the saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted. Lots of fools out there.

I suspect most of her income has been generated by the books she authors. So she earned that money to spend on her family compound or Joyce Meyer Ministries or however.

  10. WhoreChurch Says:

    Carol,

Either way she earns money off of the blood of Christ. In addition, no one who considers themselves a Christian lives in this level of self-indulgence. Even non-Christians struggle with her level of extravagance.

Wow, how can people live in this kind of excess of a ministry? Whatever happened to Christians who took vows of poverty or at least moderation?

They should be pitied, as their role (leaders) means greater responsibility before God. I can’t imagine this being appropriate while Christians around the world suffer for Christ without food or shelter.

  15. Paul B. Says:

I happened to be at a Catholic gathering two years ago, don’t ask me why, but when i turned up at the resort I see this fleet of helicopters and over thirty limosines each one with its own personal driver. For a second I thought I was at a Rolling Stones re-union or a Bill Gates Sunday lunch with Bono but it was all for the Church hierachy.

Whatever happened to the bus and the train? Working for the Church is like having a license to print money. Its Disneyland at its best.

  16. Alyssa Says:

PAUL B. Come on!!! I really wanted to ask WHY you ended up and at a catholic gathering….really…

Yeah I will continue to be against organized religion, I’ve only added this as another file in my brain as to why.

  19. JV Says:

    WC,

It’s sad that in your warped world of Xianity, nobody can reap a personal blessing that surpasses yours, without it being considered illegitimate and suspect.

I’m presuming that David and Solomon weren’t quite humble and impoverished for your taste? That’s just two of many, many biblical figures who were ridiculously wealthy. And…one of them was a bad actor half the time, despite the wealth, but nobody considers him “bad”, or unworthy; just blessed!

Envy and spite, are not a Christian values. Jealousy isn’t either. However, in the world of WC Xianity, these are celebrated character traits as evidenced by the vitriol and bitterness offered toward JM, and the rest.

I’m really sad for you. Only the mentally and spiritually impoverished would begrudge others the fruit of their labor, regardless of what the labor entailed.

BTW, David was given everything he had for free. And Solomon, not a days work was involved in what he owned. So JM’s hard work pays off and you denigrate her prosperity?

    Sad.

  20. WhoreChurch Says:

    JV,

Yup. You got me. I’m just jealous.

At 16, I heard the screams of my 18 brother as he lay dying of an accidental gun shot wound. (I was the only one at home), saw the results of my first boyfriend, of 3 yrs, after he was shot at point blank range, in the head, have had to have brain surgery, am now having seizures from mis-prescribed medication, was hit in the rear by someone that was going 90 miles per hour, and my 2 yr. old granddaughter was murdered. If it weren’t for this money grubbing, selfish whore, I would be either dead from suicide, or in a mental hospital. No, I do not have the funds to contribute to Joyce but she is there every day to help me cope through hope, and I don’t know what I would do without her. She helps millions of people like me survive, just one more day. What have you done in your life that even comes close to this? Yeah, that’s what I thought! Shame on you! I am so glad that she doesn’t have to suffer anymore and that she is GREATLY rewarded for the help and hope she gives us. She works hard for what she gives us and for what she gets. Can you say the same? I don’t guess you would think my life is worth much, but those that love me are very grateful to her and think my life is worth every penny she gets. You go girl!! I have no idea why I have had so much real heart ache, but she has helped me to realize that I don’t have to carry that burden alone.

  23. Alyssa Says:

you know, this day and age, i can’t say that i blame you for feeling leery of many evangilist. i do too, but Joyce has never given me that deep feeling that she is in it for the money. now i did go to one of her revivals when she came to my state, and i did get upset when they took 1/2 hour to talk about making donations…money, money, money; i didn’t like that at all, but i weigh her good against her bad and her good wins BY FAR! she has inspired me to stay in my Bible, and to try my best to live righteously. God has truly blessed her with the gift to spread His word. i tape her show and watch it every day. very seldom does she talk about money/tithes. of course, because tithing is in the Bible, she is responsible to talk about it some, but more than anything, she preaches about GOD, and that is refreshing. so many others only use His precious name to request money, money, money, and it is so disheartening. but Joyce speaks SO much more about loving your neighbor, and taking care of your body, and reading your Bible, and treating people good, leaving your old life/pain behind and rejoicing in the Lord. i was just thanking God for her this morning as i was watching one of my taped shows. it doesn’t matter how her hair looks (to the previous poster), or her make-up; this world is too superficial now and we focus on all of the wrong things. if you are truly paying attention to message she is trying to convey, you would not even notice her hair….said all in love.

(sorry for any words spelled incorrectly)

  25. T. K. one more time Says:

oh yeah, and for the THOUSANDS of lives that she brings to Christ daily, she deserve to lived in a mansion lined with gold, if she chooses. i would rather see her living in it, than some of these other evangilist that i watch on t.v. that break my heart…they barely mention Christ in a sentence that doesn’t have the word ‘financial blessings’ in it. sigh. money is not the only way to be/feel blessed. i feel blessed every day now that Christ is in my life. i have never given to Joyce’s ministries, but because she truly delivers the word in a way that i can understand, and she truly feeds God through my veins, i am definitely going to make a donation…and i hope that she is able to add another square footage to her mansion because of people like me. :)

  26. Linda Says:

Joyce is an honest, to the point, God loving woman who deserves all the good that has been given to her by God, including her “gold lined” home, car, hair, slippers, even dog . Her ministry helps more people in this world than you can even imagine. She gives hope and comfort to those who are without it. I any of you out there gave even a trillionth of what she gave of herself, this world would be a much better place. As for the nuns and priests taking a vow of poverty, what good does it do the world if they are not helping others? WE LOVE YOU JOYCE…KEEP PUSHING ON!!!!

  27. Dwight Says:

It is sad to see the hate and judgemental attitudes of those who really do not seek God. SaddieSu explained it best. God has used Joyce Meyers to change my life and the life of probably thousands or even millions of people all over the world. Where were your comments, when Joyce Meyers didn’t have any food to eat, or had to TRUST GOD for the next day to turn out alright. To get the next meal, or pay the next bill. She kept on worshipping GOD. Where were you? I can only feel sorrow for you and pray that your hearts one day may change through God’s mercy and Holy Spirit.

Where were you guys when she had to work out of a basement, when all of her friends and maybe even family, abandoned her. Where were you guys when she was sexually abused by her father. Where? Where?.

Yes you guys are all jealous and hateful and manifest the fruits of the Devil. Your comments cannot destroy such a great woman of God and her ministry because, God is in charge. Your job is to get on your knees and pray and ask God to change your devilish attitudes before you get zapped by an almighty Creator who does not stand for the ridicule of someone he has Chosen to change people’s lives.

Oh how I ask God for mercy on you. You probably don’t get the picture yet, do you! Just look around the World and stop worrying about what Joyce Meyers has, and start worrying about what YOU don’t have, and that is the desire to worship GOD and to seek GOD, daily to dodge the ever so imminent return of his Son Jesus Christ.

Let me tell you one last thing dudes, Christ is not returning in a white robe and sandles to touch you on your little head, He is coming back to JUDGE. So you decide what your fate can be.

God forgive me for mistreating these ignorant people, but I speak from the bottom of my heart. Joyce Meyers has changed my life, and I thank God for that and I can only pray for those who TRY, to stand up against her.

It is not a wise thing to TRY to stand up against a servant of GOD.

    Sincerely,
    Dwight

  31. Josephine Says:

I am floored! 50 years of using the wrong bible, 50 years of listening to the wrong people, attending the wrong church!

Thanks to this blog I now understand the difference between non-Christian values and Christian values. The difference between whores and and true followers of Christ.

Christian values include making mean, hateful and derogatory remarks about other Christians. It means gossiping in its meanest, most primitive form. It means to display a profound disrespect for parents who have the “wrong” belief and who have joined the wrong church. It means to display an arrogant attitude of having THE one and only truth, all others are wrong and ought to burn in hell. It means to have no respect for the word “church” and to use it in combination with “whore”. It means to tear down at all cost and apparent immunity from God’s judgment. It means to vomit hatred (I thought that was the devil’s domain), it means to indulge in arrogant self-righteousness. It means to appoint oneself fashion police and to engage in the most extreme display of shallowness as if there were no real problems in need of attention. The irony that those who make those shallow and superficial remarks try to mock the perceived shallowness in others is not to overlook. The pot and the kettle.

Now, if somebody could point to a store where I can purchase “your” bible and if somebody would kindly point out the pages where I can educate myself on the “proper” Christian values and attitudes. I’m sure there must be ample reference in “your” scripture where Jesus told us to engage freely and without reservation in sowing the seeds of hate and merrily throwing the first stones. Where are we encouraged to wallow in the darkness of fear and hate? Where are we encouraged to tear down others so that we may feel a tiny bit better about ourselves, if only for a moment? I like the idea of picking my values like menu items. What I don’t like I just ignore and deny its existence. Instead of working on my dark side, I can give it free run in the name of Jesus! Quite handy I must say.

Do you own slaves? After all, that too is a Christian value: Leviticus 25:44-46. Do you sell your daughters? What do you do with the profit from such sales? Exodus 21:7-11. Do you favor stoning to death over a costly divorce? Just wondering.

You are not the only one exposing the extravagant life style of this woman and her family as well as other charlatans in the sheep fleecing business. Keep up the good work,
    J.J.

  33. Loving Jesus Says:

To J. J Smith…correction; TRYING to expose. Nothing has been proven yet, and until it is, I will continue to believe that Joyce Myers is truly an annointed woman, living and loving Christ just as much as I do. The things you do in the dark, will come to life and if indeed she is doing wrong, it will come to light.

    To SadiSue,
I love your post and I am glad that you feel that Joyce has bought you through some tough times but be careful that you are serving Christ and not Joyce because Joyce is still human. Human’s make mistakes and will dissapoint you, Christ won’t. I just noted that I did not see you mention Christ in your postings, only Joyce. Well if it weren’t for Christ, Joyce would not be speaking the healing words that helped to save your life. Christ kept you from killing yourself, He just used Joyce as a vessel to deliver the word to you. Please don’t get offended.

  34. Josephine Says:

The man who says ‘I know Him” but does not do what He commands is a liar and the truth is not in him. Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

To accuse another person of being a charlatan, a whore without having proof is slander. If you want respect and credibility: earn it!

If you have proof of wrongdoing – share it, bring it to the authorities so they can stop it. Is hateful propaganda without substance and name calling all you have? Can you do no better than to put yourself and your blog on the same level with trailer trash, crack whores and the National Enquirer?

Knowing the New Testament and LIVING it are two different things. How can you claim to be a follower of Christ if you so blatently ignore His words?

By the way: I am not a supporter or follower of JMM. I barely know who the woman is. I don’t have the time or interest to research your accusations. I take offense with your behavior, regardless of the victim of your venom. If your behavior would truly be a reflection of Christ – I would convert to budhism today.

To all who seem to KNOW of wrongdoings: prove it and don’t just repeat propaganda with the reliability of a well trained parrot.

  35. RussB Says:

I do not listen to Joyce Meyer but I understand she is the most prolific writer of Christian books and she only uses the income form her book sales for herself. I understand she has spent a huge amount of time and her money to build hospitals and housing for the poorest of the poor.

There is nothing wrong with a Christian leader to earn her money and lots of it. She is not taking the “widows mite” for her personal expenditures.

It only took me 10 minutes on the computer to see what this woman does and what type of woman she is.

  36. layla01 Says:

O.K., let’s just talk about NY Times best selling authors and average salaries( yes, Joyce is a NYT#1BSA ). Stephen King makes over $40M a year and has written 50+ books. If you take religiousities totally out of the equation, Joyce Meyer would earn $60M+ on book sales alone.( not even considering DVD and all of her other media’s available ). Now, her ministry makes about $124M a year and, from past audits, gives about 80-82% to her charities. You do the math. Are you getting it yet?

Now, let’s acknowledge her tremendous and annointed influence on lives all over the WORLD for a minute. Can you even imagine how much it costs to do that? Moreover, can you step back for a minute and thank God for His annointing on her life because she is spreading the Word of Life through Jesus Christ. God has blessed her ministry and she is indeed a “laborer worthy of her hire.”

Please stop worrying so much about where she lives and how much money she may have or spend and recognize that God is in control here ,and, if she WERE doing anything dishonest, you can trust that God will deal with her personally on these things. I will forego any judgement as I do have a healthy…um… FEAR of God!

Remember to also look at the people she is bringing to God, through Jesus, EVERY DAY and contemplate this: It is written,
15“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 “So then, you will know them by their fruits.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’
    Matthew 7:15-23

You see, God has everything under control, so we don’t have to worry about it. As for me, I will continue to support Joyce and her ministry because I believe I am seeing “good fruit” and the Holy Spirit tells me, that is enough.

Pray for your OWN answers and ask God for discernment…God alone will convict ( gently nudge ) your heart and mind.

And… you might just want to purchase ” Battlefield of the Mind “, by, none other than…taadaa!!!… Joyce Meyer. ( it is also available at audible.com to download )

May the grace of God be with you today and every day!

Joyce, help children are dying so you can eat your $200 dinners and sleep in your $2,000 hotel rooms!!!!!!!! Oh , but wait, she spreading the word of God.. If Paul could sleep in her bathroom , he would have considered himself rich .. I think Paul did better job of preaching then this false prophetesses, the reincarnation of Jezebel!!! She preaches whatever she wants.. Many belive crazy in her, cause she is a woman who claims to be greate and Anoited.. Dang it.. There is so many people who preach the wrod of Bible so much more accurately than her who live in mud huts.. How come the apostles in bible didnt live in palaces with everyone starving around them???? Didnt’ they deserve.. Joyce is like the rich man Jesus conftroned.. If you truly love me sell what you have give ur money to poor and follow me.. He said it to him, not cause he wanted him to be poor, but he knew the man loved money more than God. .

First, Joyce claims her hard work and being anoited by God makes her entitled to lavish selfish life.. What luxuaries did Jesus have on the cross when dying for Joyce?? What luxuaries did Paul and apostles have when living in small house, where all shared expenses and being beaten, chastisted whipped by Roman tortureres.. What has Joyce Meyer done that those German Christians imprisoned in Afghanistan did not do and more?? THey were willing to die for Jesus, yet Joyce would be probably crying for her body guards to send her private F-16 to fly her away.

This world is a joke.. JOYCE, WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING!! Lets see waht the pretty princess would do without her $5000 suit.. I see little girl dying in Africa from AIDS, cannot get AZT.. What about her Joyce, you and your damn hotel rooms.. I will sleep at Motel 6, $40 /night.. Maybe I’m anointed.. Remember your wealth doesnt represnt your blessings from God.. Oh you blind people, who put faith in mammon, material things!!!!!!!!! THE WIDOW WAS THE GREATEEST OF THEM ALL, Jesus said, for the little she gave was all she had!!!

  38. Yonatan Says:

BY the King David did a heck of lot .. you the poster who said David sat on his lazy behind and did nothing and was madly rich.. David lived poor and suffering lot of his life.. He killed tens of thousands of enemies who were trying to cut the throat of the Israelite chidlren. David was a champion and if it wasnt for him there woudl be no Jesus Christ!!! Solmon was a man of reknown wisdom and his intelligence prevented the enemies from destroying Israel and Solomon help increase the wealth of all Of Israel many many times. SOmething the other kings had no means to do. So, the ignorant guy on here better take alittle deeper look athte bible and stop degrading GOd’s servants to make those who pretend to God’s servants greater than they are.

Joyce Meyer lavish lifestlye and petty preaching sermons have not saved Ameica from destruction, they have not ended terrorism, they have not stopped crime, pollution.. Joyce has not helped prevent Africans, Indians, Asians from starvation. Actually, people are suffering .. Instead of helping the poor people who need the money, they are buying Joyce’s useless book on how to achievve salvation by putting their faith in her insead of God..

Dang it.. If people stop wasting so much money on Joyce, her $2000 hotel rooms and mansions .. Think of all the other children in world who could be going to school, learning the bible sing praises to God.. HalleluYAH to That! My prayers is that we redirected our money from Joyce’s books and videos to The Holy Bible and God’s children who need the money more than that greedy ol lady!!!!

    AMEN

Shame on you for allowing Satan to use you as a tool to come against one of Gods Children. I will be praying for you and asking God to forgive you for what you have done in trying to mislead people against Joyce Meyers. I know you truly do not know what you have done otherwise you would have never posted this in the first place.
    LORD,
I come asking you for forgiveness of my sins and I ask you to send your minestering angles to this person, for I know they have no ideal what they have done by posting this on the Internet. Farther touch them in a way so they will understand and realize your reverence. In “Jesus” name I pray Amen!

  43. WhoreChurch Says:

    Hey Val,

    Thanks for stopping by.

I assure you I was fully aware of what I was posting. I’m curious–what about my post here was so offensive? The picture of Joyce Meyer’s opulent lifestyle or my calling it pornographic?

Also, what is misleading about this post?

Whether my site is inspired by Satan or God or the FSM, I’ll let posterity decide. My money is on “none of the above.”

  44. Frank Bumstead Says:

Does she not receive a buttload of money from the publishing of so many books?

Is it possible that her money comes from that, and that she doesn’t use ministry money?

  45. Sandy Says:

I think she is doing a great job she has help me alot….. shame on all you ppl maybe you guys need to be listening instead of judging…..keep up the good work Joyce!

  46. Ben Says:

Very interesting to read all of the comments of people. She may have some nice things to say to pepole but she does not teach sound doctrine.
Nor does she live it. When someone is called to come to Congress and they do not have an open book financially in the Christian ministry world they are hiding something in the dark. Wake up folks – PT Barnum said their is a sucker born every minute — Joyce has figured that out.

  47. CHfeelreal Says:

It is so sad to hear so many people comments on this subject in such a way. Why does money and possession convict so many. Yes some can use it for wrong, some can have bad motives but there are some who have been blessed to a point where they can also bless others. This topic is for God’s understanding and nothing for us to be greatly consern with. This is the deception of the devil to distract people attention from the true purpose of God. So many of us claim to be Christian (profess) but really don’t live the christian life (possess). This is evident with the language and misunderstanding of such conversations and allegations. Eventhough cases as such mentioned have been true, prayer is the key to overcoming false Christianity not gossip or ridicule. This is the likeness of demonic activity. “Some have the zeal for God but not according to accurate knowledge”. Faith will enevitably reveal the truth in things not judgements or pointed opinions. God is not the author of confusion only the devil. It is good to make God’s people aware of the devil’s devices but it is done in an orderly and loving manner according to the fruits of the spirit. I don’t have to questions if someone knows the Bible because their life and conversations will eventually tell the truth as God allow trials into our lives. This is just a trial that can lead to transgression and we all know where that can lead us! Be careful Christian brothers and sisters to get involved in this type of non-sense. Don’t let the devil toy with your mind. Keep your heart pure and know that Jesus is Lord! Our purpose if to make disciples and our plan in life to fulfill this call is order by God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding about this situation. Seek God’s counsel to reveal the truth and continue to pray that Christianity does not get tainted by such rederick or corrupt plublicity. Eventhough we can not control man’s intentions we can help bring the lost to a point of true awareness of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ by responding to all things in the manner that he portrayed. May God be with you always. AMEN!

  48. daryl Says:

I dont wanna curse in here but put in mind that every man has weaknesses if she is weak in that aspect then let it be…Look at yourself are youany stronger than her at all? It’s just Christ who’s perfect…

  49. mike Says:

Joyce is a wonderful speaker and has helped many, and I believe she is saved by grace thru faith as I am, but she is living a irresponsable life style and has caused shame within the body of Christ.

All Christians should pray for her and her family.

  50. Steve Johnson Says:

I think the evangelists should be held accountable for the money that they take in and is not taxed. I would have to mention however, that I checked out Joyce Meyer’s website and was impressed with her message. There is a lot of common sense advice for living a better life. If she has a gift for advice or teaching and becomes wildly successful it is hard to say she doesnt deserve the rewards of that success, just as very likeable or admired movie stars also become wildly successful because so many people find them entertaining. I guess the key is that in the religious field the monies apparently arent taxes which probably isnt really fair as everyone else’s money is.

  51. Reuben Says:

I had never heard of this lady until I read she was being investigated. She is a very strong personality who seems to inspire mostly women with her strength and message of empowerment. Struck me as kind of a Caucasian Oprah. No one is on Oprah’s case for being super successful and ridiculously wealthy. I would have to think that a lot of the knee jerk reaction to a lot of these evangelists is jealousy (something Ive felt too). In our society a person who is confident or perceived as confident and is very vocal in their views and attracts a lot of supporters does well. That’s basically the way it is. Most people can’t speak well to large crowds through lack of confidence in what they believe etc., but if you could you would be enjoying success also.

  52. Mickirocker Says:

I believe everyone, including ministers, should pay taxes.

  53. b4dguy Says:

I’ve supported Joyce Meyer for over 10 years, and have not once given to her in order to ‘reap a harvest’. The motivation is that she is putting the money to better use than than the local church that would just pay the electric bill for a building that sits empty for six days a week.

I’ve just discovered your blogsite, and I’m now looking for any of your posts on what is Christianity – since you claim that Joyce and her followers are distincly un-Christian. For example, I’m curious as to whether you believe Christianity ought to be about fairness and balance.

Also, you should correct some of your data – Joyce’s salary/compensation is capped at $250K, her compound is owned by the Ministry – not by her, and it’s all paid for by proceeds of her book sales and honorariums (paid speaking engagements) – not by any of the contributions made by her followers (she calls them partners). Contributions in 2006 were nearly $100M, of which 82% goes to direct ministry. (Her web page has statements of financial accountability and audited financial reports from 2004 to the present…)

For all the ‘extravagances’ of her lifestyle, you fail to mention any of the ministries she has launched/sponsored – from inner city ministry in St. Louis to international famine relief in countries such as Ethiopia, India, and Cambodia.

If you respond, could you please provide links to any of your blogs that reflect on your view of what Christianity is or should be? I’d love to read all your blogs in time, but would love a crash course.

  54. Ashley Says:

I think ministires should not be taxed for any of the money they recieve. That money is for the Lords work. I love Joyce and I am very thankful for everything she does and the encouragement she gives me everytime I hear her. I rejoice over the fact that God has blessed her with all that she has, because she deserves it and much more for all she does. Joyce (as well as other mega ministries) do a lot for the advancement of the kingdom of God and they can not go into these countries and do the things they do without people giving and all of the money it takes to operate a ministry of that size. The Bible tells us that money answereth all things and it does help them to win souls for the kingdom. Joyce is not a dishonest person and she is not preaching or teaching a lie. Its just some people are so wrapped up in how the church is suppose to look like and what they can and cannot have, that they forget about all of the people who are dying and going to hell. Stop spending so much time critizing and talking about these ministries and talk to somone for Jesus.

  55. David Says:

    WC,

What is misleading? How about pornographic. You should refer to either your dictionary or even you thesaurus and you can see that the term pornographic would have nothing to do with this post. If you are going to use large words, know what they mean. You should have tried something along the lines of extortion if this is the message that you wanted to convey.

Now let me give 3 biblical examples (that you could find in ANY Bible) of this timeless debate.

Job: Wealthiest man in the land. He knew that all of his possessions belonged to God. Declared Righteous by God Himself.

The Widow at the temple in Jerusalem: She gave an offering of two mites. It was all she had. Declared Righteous by Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ.

Ananias and Sapphira: Sold their land and gave a large sum of money to the church to minister to the needs of the less fortunate, but kept some of the money and lied about it. Declared Unrighteous by the Holy Spirit who killed both of them through Peter’s proclamation.

The true question is not how much do you have or how lavish are you living, the true question is what portion of God’s blessings are you returning back to him, and what the attitude of the heart is.

I challenge all, supporters and those opposed to Joyce Meyer, to look introspectively and evaluate self.

If Joyce Meyers were to make (hypothetically) $100,000,000 per year, and she kept $10,000,000 dollars per year to spend on her self, that would mean that she was giving back $90,000,000 per year as her tithe and offerings.

This is the equivalent of a person of an average income, say $65,000 a year living on only $6,500 per year and giving $58,500 dollars a year to your church as your tithe and your offerings.

I do get agitated with ministers whom seem to live too extravagantly. It personally bothers me. I wish every day that I could win the Lottery (too bad it will never happen since I don’t play) so I could buy myself a decent house, a new truck for me, a hybrid SUV for my wife, and a Harley Davidson. I could pay off the new building that my church has recently constructed. I would set up a low interest bearing fund and allow that money to generate interest that I would withdraw each year and give to my home church. But that is my personal conviction of what I would do with that type of money.

Be logical and be realistic. Look at the facts, not the appearances. Do not be a fool.

  56. Suzanne Says:

I would think that Joyce Meyer has had issues with making sure God is okay with her lifestyle. Maybe since lightening didn’t strike her then he has given her the okay. I guess when God has given you the okay then it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks since you are one with God. I also think she thinks she was gifted in teaching and writing and that she is using her spiritual gifts for God. I think it works this way–I am using my gifts that God put in me to for him and he is pleased and that is why I am rich. Again, when you are one it with God it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks. She says this all the time. And of course she still has not been struck down by lightening so God is cool and happy with it all. The thing is God uses people as the nonexample too. It is really is a rubrics cube of moral responsibility verses the plain ol’ human condition of wanting, desiring, etc. The real examples of “true” Christians are around us in everyday life. Joyce could never be that person. She was competitive with other church people and is somewhat screwed up as we all are at times. I think the government needs to crack down on nonprofit organizations because this sort of thing (not paying taxes) for more than suffice living travel, wardrobe, etc. is not only not Christian–it is not American. Greed hedging under a nonprofit umbrella must be stopped.

  57. Shelly Says:

I have always been uncomfortable with Meyer’s style of preaching. Not only is she rude and abrupt but she is full of herself. No one mentioned the obvious face work that she has had, she is in her 60’s but looks like she is in her 40’s. I read where she says that the facelifts she has had are because she is in the public eye. What kind of message does that send to women…that growing old gracefully is only for the common people. I guess money does buy happiness, at least a facelift

  58. Gr8byHisGrace Says:

Im not sure that it is any of your business what one does with their money or what kind of clothes they wear…if you have read your Holy Bible…how did you miss all the many verses and commandments that tahc us to love one another? I don’t detect alot of that in your “rabble”…

  59. STEVE Says:

Hello, I personally do not have anything against Joyce Meyer. But lets say
for argument sake, if your not a Christian and that is what you are called
to do, Minister and save lives to those that are unsaved. to those that are
not, it does not look good living in all that wealth. See the problem is that
all these high profile Preachers are writing books for profit and wealth in
the name of the ALMIGHTY. They do not need to write anything except
stick to the living word of God, (The Bible). Discern in your hearts and its
ridiculous for you and your family to live in homes like that and have your
church pay for everything. To many people are abusing the word of God
for profit and throwing around scripture bible versus to justify this or that
for financial gain. Great your helping people out in need in you Ministry, means nothing if your living lavish lifestyle of the rich and famous. Ministries mask behind the giving which is usually only a fraction of what your paying to get noticed and famous, mainly on television and radio, its a big money making scheme for everyone involved from the set designers
production people, the T.V. networks and so on. I guess the argument would be we are reaching millions of people and changing lives, good I say
now sell your portfolio of wealth and have Mansions in Heaven. The last will
come first and the first will come last. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Remember in the New Testament when the rich man told Jesus that he obeyed all his commandments and Jesus turned to him and said, good now sell all your things riches, homes, etc and come and follow me. The man could not do it, then came the saying about the Camel going through the eye of needle. What Joyce might think of doing is down size the way she lives, I am sure she could get bye just fine in a 2700 sq ft home instead of a 10000 sq ft home and instead of buying extremely expensive things that
I hear she does, use discretion and do not do that. Only bye what you need
period. Please understand that is totally not biblical to lead these lifestyles
and prey for those that do. One cannot say I worked hard and have earned
it or deserve it, or others come to your defense and say she or he deserves it, that is also not biblical, I know about the few versus about wealth that the Mega-star preachers use such as Deuteronomy 8 for example but it is a far fetched that it is telling you its O.K. to live like a rock-star. Again there is nothing wrong with making a living doing what they do, but excess is one living out their own hearts desire for material
things and Jesus strongly speaks against this.

  60. rooster76 Says:

I’ve been reading through this blog and find the different opinions very interesting. Many good points on both sides. Many truths on both sides.

I’m really not being catty here. I’m just stating my truth. I can’t watch Joyce now because her latest eye lift causes her to blink about every 4 seconds. I can’t concentrate on what she’s saying because I begin to blink along with her and it’s just way too much for me. My eyes start going wonky and I can’t watch her anymore.

    Anyone else have that problem?

On a more serious note, I do like Joyce but I abhor her lifestyle. I believe that it gives nonbelievers another excuse to rip our faith apart (have experienced this first-hand). I think that she has caused many to be saved but her lifestyle has also caused many to turn away. I keep her in my prayers.

    rooster

  61. rooster76 Says:

I wish everyone a blessed New Year! I pray that we will allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in the right direction in 2008. I pray that He will give us eyes to see, ears to hear and a mouth to speak the truth without fear. I pray that we will all feel His precious peace and joy and that it will carry us through any trials that we might face.

  62. Juliet Says:

All I have to say is to not judge people based on rumor, gossip or hearsay, but judge on absolute truth and knowledge. What if on Judgment Day God based his judgment on your eternal soul solely on rumor, gossip or hearsay rather than the truth as He will know it?

  63. under the purple cross Says:

try living down the hill from her “church” she refuses to pay taxes stating that its church property. its not a church. its a frikin recording studio. she has a 200 foot high neon purple cross that we ( people that live here) had to get a petition togther to get her to turn it off! 3 am and you can see that purple cross for miles. she now can only light it on holidays. plus, she burns my britches with that “church” federal law states a church is open to the public. you cant enter her “church” but you can her bookstores.

  64. under the purple cross Says:

adding another comment sorry. the news article says that she “bought” those homes. no she had them built! and they are in the next county from her “church”. so, again it isnt part of the church. shes greedy and all her and the others want is your money. pfft! her story of how she bought a family dinner in an expensive resturant is a joke! if that family that she bought for was so poor why were they eating in that place??? also, her south side stlouis accent is fake. i grew up in the same area and i dont know anyone that speaks like that! and unfortuanately i know this woman ugh.

  65. me Says:

yeah, it’s as cozy as joe eco man john travolta’s home which is so un-environmental it makes me want to puke.

    who cares.

  66. Prospector Says:

I am not quite clear on the message being given by the author of this site. I am a born-late-in-life Christian that started out with absolutely zero money and worked my way through school to get a good education and eventually a good career. The result, I have a bigger house and more land that Joyce.

I became a Christian at the age of 39 but was never told I had to sell all of my belongings and give them away. Had I done that, I would have been continually struggling. Instead, I saved, invested, and now yield more returns than I can use and am able to give them away.

There is something to say for getting “ahead of the curve” financially. The old saying “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer” is due to the existence of “Compound Interest”. If you are poor, you are losing. If you are wealthy, you are gaining every day. So, gain wealth and then use that advantage to feed-back to those who cannot do it for themselves.

  67. Tom Says:

I can’t say I know a lot about Joyce Meyer, she may be a very nice person who helps a lot of people for all I know. I don’t even begrudge her for her lifestyle.
However, if what I know about her (please correct me if I am wrong), her association with the Word of Faith movement tells me all I really need to know about her. In case anyone isn’t aware the Word of Faith movement preaches heresy. If someone doubts that just ask and I will give proof.
One can be a great humanitarian and still preach a false gospel.
Mother Theresa comes to mind when I think of an example. Few would argue that she was a very giving and selfless individual. Even most non-Christian are huge admirers of her. Yet, her being of the Roman Catholic faith she preached a false gospel.
That is the bottom line to me, in this world there have been many great humanitarians, the Dali lama, Gandhi, Mother Theresa are just a few of these names, yet they all have one thing in common, they all preached a false gospel.

  68. Lola Says:

I think you people are naive and stupid. After voting for some of the worst politicians to run your country and lose trillions of dollars, get how many people killed in war and set up a system that the majority of you haven’t got a dollar to rub together, you have the cheek to begrudge a hardworking lady like Joyce Meyers.

In the name of God she offers a service and makes money for the church as an author, I don’t see none of you moaning about the Pope, how expensive do you think the Vatican is and how much work does he do world wide.

Just get it together and judge not lest thy be judged. At least the women makes people feel good.

  69. Lola Says:

I don’t believe in changing the words of the bible, but apart from scriptures being open to individuals interpretations, in case you didn’t know, the bible that we get has already been tampered with, case in point “King James’s Version”. Do you really think King James a man that participated in slavery, preserved the scriptures to the most accurate form? I am sure he apapted it to ensure his purpose was maintained.

Now I am not saying these high maintenance preachers are all saints, but I am saying Joyce Meyers works and writes books to make money. Many preachers sit on their behinds and make money from just standing on a pulpit and reading exerts from the bible.

  70. Live'nletlive Says:

Tsk, tsk, tsk to all of you who only have grief over hair, cosmetic surgery, clothing and materialistic rabble. Also, being of the Catholic faith, I don’t know of any “Resorts,” which belongs to Catholics, nor that our priests would accuse Joyce Meyer of preaching a false gospel,(I actually asked my priest about her and he was not intimidated by her and did not have any issues with what she has been preaching.) My take on televangelism is a bit more simple. Many people like to give because it makes them feel good to give, and they most of the time are not positive that their “hard earned money,” is actually going to where they have prayerfully designated. If they are so ignorant of where their money is going, then they are blissfully happy because they injoy watching or listening to Joyce Meyer and the many other televangelist. They are paying for their intertainment and the good feelings they get by giving. I believe we need to get over ourselves and not be concerned with the illgotten wealth of these people. Don’t watch, listen or send money. Stop with the coveting, lusting or purely evil jealously of those who receive money because they preach what many people want to hear. Not everyone that sends money or buys products of the Meyer’s and others are unintelligent. Think of that, some intelligent people really like Meyers et al. I have watched Joyce and actually liked and laughed and even recognized some of what she preached. I didn’t wonder about her hair, eyes, face or clothing, and I didn’t buy anything or send money, decide to leave the Catholic faith, nor do I think she is a great humanitarian. Perhaps she is just a shrewed businesswoman but she can only be successful if her following allows it.

  71. Christine Says:

Shame on all of you for your judgement on this page. She has helped me and many others. She built villages after the Tsunami and has brought healing to many hearts and minds. There are many rich authors, celebritys and athletes out there. She hasn’t hid anything and she is one of the few who opened her financial books recently when the IRS requested while many others didn’t – why are their names not on this page – and what happened to judge not the plank in thy neighbors eye without the taking the one out of your own eye.

  72. Karen Says:

Whoever started this website……sounds like you just mad that people have chosen to support Joyce Meyer….because you don’t have them supporting you. Don’t get mad at her, get mad at all the people who “choose” to do this. You should read your own bible, because no where in these statements is there a concern for how people are reacting to Joyce, instead it’s a Pharisee type of reaction on your part, to drag the adulterer before people. How much money are You wasting? You might want to watch where you are pointing your finger……you just might poke yourself in the eye!

  73. jEFF Says:

When Jesus walked on earth he didn’t have earthly wealth. He actually said lay up your tresures in heaven.I would also like to point out what quilifactions does she have to be a pastor? If you read in 1Timothy 3:1-7,Paul also tells Timothy women are not to be over men.God has placed man at the spiritual head of the home Ephesians 5:22-25 So how can Joyce be called of God .The only reason Deborha was in the old testment was because there where no good men,.
Is that Joyce’s excuse? How is she the head of her home when God placed man there,God did the same with his church body.I’m not saying wemen are not important God gave them a gift no man will ever experience children.I am also not saying man is better remember God created Adam first and then Eve as his help mate.Men God did not say boss your wives around we’er to help them as much as they help us and even more because God sd they are the weaker vessel.I feel for Joyce Meyer because she is where God never appointed her.

  74. Lisa Says:

Shame on all of you. Your judging Joyce Meyer on what you think you know. Her ministry helps tens of thousands of people around the world. She is also an author. Perhaps she has that compound on the basis of her book sales. You do not know anything for fact. Jesus tells us not to judge, for we will be judged. Her life is between her and The Lord.

As far as Catholicism goes, I left the church. Paganism and idolatry have entered into the original teaching of the gospel. There is a lot of heresy. I uncourage you all to read your Bibles. What the Catholic church preaches is not 100% scriptural. Read it for reproof as we are instructed. Do yourself all a favor and look at the beam in your own eyes. If anyone of us is without sin, may that person cast the first stone. The Bible is clear on wealth. We are a child of God. We are not to live in poverty. Again, read your Bible. We are heirs to the thrown.
God bless us all and keep our minds and hearts pure. Think of what is Holy and good…

  75. Michael Says:

Dear Lisa, you have not relised something very important, do you not know your opinion was based on a judgement, so how can you say we are not called to judge? How can you say someones opinion is wrong inless you thus make a judgement.. We are called to judge but to do so righteously, that meens based on the word of God only, and one must be righteous when judging (ref: Joh 7:24) or become one with the pharisees , a hypocrit.. God Almighty will be judging us all with the same word he left us with (ref: John 12:48). “Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?” (Luke 12:57) . Less you’re carnal and don’t know the truth like you think you do..Judgement should be placed to keep one in line out with true love, not to boast about in a prideful self righteous manner.. How can you put someone in line and be a witness for the Glory of God to help save someones soul, pulling them out of the flames if you do not judge? It is Impossible, how do you know that you truly believe in Christ and his teachings inless you make a judgement, and everyone better make that a righteous judgement and see what the LORD says not what we believe! Jesus said, “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”(Matthew 7:5).. Christ wants us to beable to judge so we can help get that beam out of our brothers with eye but we can’t if we ourselves can’t see! PLEASE PEOPLE, keep the scriptures in context..And the JESUS Christ told Mary to “go and sin no more”. He made an example of her for all of us to fallow, “go and sin no more”. And don’t throw the stone but have compassion for one another knowing that we have all sinned and deserve God’s wrath but that we should love one another and help our neibor that has fallen into that ditch of sin and be the light that we are supposed to be.

Provide scripture in context to back up your opinions and not to boast but to correct one because we love, inless your love is vain.. And yes I study the word of God in spirit not carnality, thus we mature in word as God sees we truly desire knowledge and understanding.. Most people will read the word and are not going to get anything out of it but just sit there contridicting the word because they are not truly seeking the truth, only absorb parts that want to hear and avoid the rest..they don’t want to be corrected they want to correct others.. So they can feel prideful in there carnality..We are called to judge righteously, so make full proof of your ministries before you cause a stumblingstone (ref: 2Ti 4:5). Not just Lisa, everyone, including myself!.. By the way, this is what I am talking about, people want to live carnal so they twist scripture to fit there lifestyle. Jesus Christ does not call us to be rich only rich in love and knowledge of God’s word so that we can give to the poor and needy(not to give them money etc, but the word of God, money does not save the soul it corrupts it) , Jesus Christ and the Apostles taught to deny self and make Jesus LORD not just a Saviour, but to become servants, doing the will of our Father in Heaven..Picking up our cross to crucify are fleshly lusts of this world to live in spirit and truth (Jesus Christ) walking in FAITH and in the fear of God for eternal life.. Not faith in the dollar!! The ones who want riches or to be wealthy, to live in a false security are the ones who stamp “In god we trust” on our money.. That is not the God I trust, and that is not the God of my forefathers!

2 Corinthians 8:8-9 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God left His Kingdom to come and serve us and set the example to do the will of the Father in Heaven.. Through setting the example with love and truth, He left us with the greatest blessing we could ever have! A LORD and Saviour who through His Blood has washed away our sins that we might have eternal life if we abide in Him! If you think it is so we can collect earthly junk to find security then you have never known Jesus Christ! And do not know what true faith is. And you need to come to repentance.. This is true love, when the true Gospel slaps you in the face.

I probably will not ever make it back to this site, so any replies directed to me personaly should visit my website. Peace and grace to you all. And Glory to the Father forever.Amen.

  76. Tom Says:

The way some on here are defending Joyce Meyer, would make it seem like it is ok that she preaches a false gospel, just as long as she helps people.
I’ve got news for you as I said in my last post, many people from various religions and secular society help people. Does that make it right that they preach a false gospel?
If you have a Bible I ask you to read Galatians 1:8-9 and ask yourself what it says about those who preach a false Gospel.
If you think I am being judgemental by pointing this out, then you have a problem, because you are judging Scripture not me.

  77. Heidi Says:

Tom , I heard someone say one time that , If your home and sleeping and I see that you house is on fire would you want me to knock on your door and wake you up? I am sure you would! Well Tom Knock Knock, your house is on fire. Please understand that I am not trying to put you down or belittle you in any way but ask you to please correct me if I am wrong. You quoted a scripture and than said not to judge because we would be judging scripture and not you. Well I read the scripture and I believe every word of it. BUT, Satan used a one liner in the desert. He used Psalms 91:11,12. In Matthew 4: 5-7 Satan tried to lure Jesus away From God and get him to follow him, Hmmm Satan used scripture to lure him away from God, Jesus replied “Do not put the lord your God to the Test.”. To who ever is against the things that Joyce Meyers teaches, I have heard her and she is able to say Jesus is lord and she brings people to the cross in Mark 9: 38-41 the disciples warned Jesus that they saw someone casting out demons in his name, now I don’t know about your bible but mine says , Jesus said “ don’t stop him , no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for who ever is not against us is for us. As I commented she is able to say Jesus is lord and it is said that only the Holy Spirit is able to say Jesus is lord so that tells me that she has been baptized by the Holy Spirit. Quit being so distracted on her big house and her big car and the way she wears her hair and blah, blah, blah. If you don’t like what she is saying then don’t listen to her she is not hurting you by what she has, your salvation is not on the line because of what she does or says. Joyce Meyers teaches people the word of God and she draws people to read the bible and put on the armor of God , have a friendship with Christ, God loves you, the Trinity and much, much more. It is not evil to have a big house or a big life and preach the word of God. Colossians 1: 15-17 God Created it all . So What if people Give their money to her, it’s just that their money not yours. God knows the hearts of every person good and evil , Save yourself and let God judge. People Study the word of God Don’t just listen to someone preach, the living word is a Gift from God. It contains the will of God and it is his personal letter to you. LEAVE JOYCE ALONE!!!! The world we live in has so many other problems, condemning a women because she lives in a big house and does not preach the word like you want is not a good place to start. Children are being abuse and people are homeless, people are killing other people. Open you Eyes, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Yeah!!!! for Joyce she helps the children, the homeless, and has helped open the eyes of prisoners.
So Go ahead Judge me, Jesus is my Savior! God bless all of you in the name of Jesus.

  78. Alecia Says:

Wow! I’m just baffled at the outrage. (both sides I might add)

Joyce Meyer is in the public eye!!!! Everyone in the public eye gets torn apart. Be thankful it’s not you. I’m sure every person that put up a post on here would not want to be in a position where anyone and everyone could tear you to pieces and critique every last move you made. Good or bad!! Sheesh!! (I’d hate to hear what you all would have to say about my latest coffee purchase. It was a $4.50 starbucks coffee and not a $1.00 coffee which I could have purchased from my local gas station. I know, I know. I totally spent my money unwisely. Shame on me for wanting the extra low fat mocha lattee with extra whipping cream) Come on people!

Christians are here for one reason and one reason only to serve God! To be “Christ-like” Anything that does not fall under that is not of Christ. And we are not the judge of what or what is not “Christ-like” Only CHRIST is. Even the Bible is interpretted through our own “sinful minds” So quoting scripture is still ones interpretation on what it means or doesn’t mean. One person may get a totally different meaning out of the same verse. Therefore that is not an unbiased tool with which to “judge”
    someone.
People seriously, lets leave the “name calling” and “he said she said’s”, and “look what she’s wearing”, and “did you see her outfit” and “she is not a woman of God” horse crap to ourselves.
Let the woman live her life. (be it right or wrong) And you just be extra aware of how or how not to live your life based on your own personal opinions. (which may or may not sit right with someone else) Cuz when you’re looking for wrong in others, you will ALWAYS find something to point your finger at. But there is no point in doing that. Grow yourself. Grow you own faith. Be nice people. We don’t have to say such hateful things. They are nasty man!!!

It’s easy to say hateful things about others. Because we were all born sinners and it comes naturally to a lot of people. But it’s harder to not say nasty things and keep our mouth shut. So be the bigger person, and just keep your nasty thoughts to yourself.

  79. WhoreChurch Says:

It looks like it’s almost time for another post on The Most Reverend Mrs. Meyer. Many of you still don’t get it. Sheep, no shepherd.

  80. Tom Says:

All I can say is I am baffled at the response I got from my post. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me though, having been a former member of a Word of Faith Church, I know just how deceptive cults like the Word of Faith can be.

The state of the Church today is in sad shape, this reminds me of something that happened to me last summer, when I was having a discussion with someone about Benny Hinn. I told the person (quoting Hinn I might add) some of the heretical teaching that he teaches. I was soundly rebuked saying: “Do not touch the Lord’s anointed!” She told me that she knows for a fact that Benny Hinn doesn’t teach those things. When I said I could prove it, she became irate and basically called me a liar. She wasn’t interested in whether or not I could prove it, because she had already made up her mind.
Please understand, I do not talk about Word of Faith preachers just to knock them down. I talk about them because they are a cancer that is affecting the body of Christ and I for one am grateful to God that He rescued me from that movement. I can’t even imagine what my life would be like if He didn’t.

I have two question for those who are defending Joyce Meyers.
Do you care if Joyce Meyers is preaching a false gospel?
Would irrefutable proof change your perception?

One thing I do know, if Joyce Meyers and the rest of the Word of Faith movement isn’t preaching a false gospel. Then it stands to reason that everybody else is, because the Gospel that has been presented by the Church through out history through people such as Paul, Augustine, Luther, Calvin, MacArthur, Sproul etc… sure isn’t the same gospel that Word of Faith teachers teach.

  81. Aaron Says:

Your witchcraft pride and self definition remind me of your father.
Keep tearing down and bringing division.
Maybe, if you can think of witty responses, you can hide your own self hatred.

  82. Jeremy Olson Says:

Matthew 7:21) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22) Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23) Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

2 Timothy 4:2) Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3) For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4)They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

I hear a lot of people discussing these topics and throwing in biblical perspective but not much of the Bible itself. I hear people saying that one person reads a passage one way and another person another way, that is why we have so many denominations. I don’t believe the Bible takes a scholar to understand it or takes a rocket scientist to read it properly. The Bareans in Acts used the Old Testamet to verify Pauls words when he preached, so we should be able to do the same with the whole Bible in our posession.

    Sadly church’s do not allow much for doing what you are doing on blogs, I encourage you all to change this. Ask your pastors and church leaders to provide place’s for forums and discussions. A place that is safe to allow God’s Word to do what it was meant to do;
2 Timothy 3:16) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17) so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

    2 Timothy 4
    1) In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2) Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

  83. joy Says:

I want to cry. I was deceived myself before with these false teachers. I repent now. There are lots of false teachers/prophets in the US- claiming the prosperity gospel. Read Matthew 7:21-23. Study the bible and the life of Jesus Christ, and his apostles- All of them deny themselves and follow Christ. All we hear now is “self”, your destiny, how to get rich and be blessed and manipulate God with giving and etc . We must repent. Listen to Paul Washer. I read my bible now instead of watching TV. When you read the bible the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truths and not be deceived.

  84. Alecia Says:

“Sheep. no Shepherd”……that’s according to you. Are you really actually qualified to make that statement? And if so, why’s that?

And Tom, what kind of “irrefutable proof” are you talking about? What “false gospel” does she preach? I’ve read so many people say this on this site. What is this all in reference to?

  85. WhoreChurch Says:

    Alecia,

Saying Meyer’s followers are like sheep without a shepherd is pretty much like saying the sky is blue. I don’t believe her followers are insincere, but they clearly have no understanding of the character nor the teachings of Christ.

  86. Robin Says:

WOW! some of you are messed up! like big time! I have been a christian since I was a child. But I lived my whole life in fear. No one told me that I could pray and leave it in Gods hands. That I didn’t have to be afraid all the time. I was scared of everything, like getting sick, driving, flying, being alone, going any were alone, everything I ate, to say the least I was afraid of life. There was nothing I did not fear. I was ready to totaly lose it and I was praying and God lead me to Joyce and her teachings saved my life! God used her to teach me freedom in the torment of my mind and I am forever thankful! today I am a different person! And yes I give to Joyce, and I give to other ministries, and to other people I see in need! In other words I give were I feel the Holy Spirit leads me as any smart person would. It’s not like they talk me into giving to them I give because the bible says in Malachi 3:8-12 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground: neithershall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delieghtsome land, saith the Lord of hosts. So it is not man trying to get rich on God by telling people to give to be blessed, it was God who said that and those preachers would have to answer to God for not telling us how to be blessed by keeping those blessings for themselves. and what about the verse that talks about us being flesh and sin Know how to give good gifts to our children and God said should not he even more Know how to give good gifts to his children. And there are many people who followed God who he blessed in land, cattle, and so on. In those days that was riches! And above all you dont give to get the idea of giving was to keep us from being selfish so we would help each other! And who ever made the coment about Joyces house being lined with gold and another who said Jesus was poor, a…. that was before he defeated satan, and doesn’t he now walk on streets of gold! And lastly wasn’t Jesus persecuted and even killed! so of course if people persecuted him wont they also persecute us! We are not better than are master! UH…. I think Jesus said that! People who have Christ in there hearts dont even care about what other people have, because if Christ is really there then they dont get jealous of others! What kind of an example would we as christians be to a world of need if we were sick and poor. would people really want what we have! they can get that junk from the devil! After all isn’t that what HE wants for us! Not our loving heavenly father…. what would you give to your kids if you were master of the universe! enough said! in all God has blessed me with I would give it all away if he asked because it is his and not mine! and cant even take my next breath with out him! I owe him everything! and I care about his hurting people around the world and thats why I give ! And I know Joyce would give everything she had to help someone if God told her! The people who wrote on her probably woulnt give a pair of dirty underware if asked! And have Know idea of true sacrifice! So how can they Judge someone who is truly helping hurting people! And as for her so called followers. not having an understanding of the true teachings of Christ! You need to pick up your BIBLES and do a little reading! Cause you sound just like the religious leaders of those days who knew the words of the Bible but had no relationship with Christ and there for knew the words but had know understanding there of! And while Jesus stood before them had no concept of who he was and hated and killed him!

  87. olsaners Says:

What you said Joy was dead on, I think we make Christianity more exciting because we don’t think God can do it on His own. God is the one at work and we are asked to join Him, it is not on the basis of us doing it to make it happen. My wife and I have been immersed in the Word and we find that we don’t have to make a choice about watching tv it is just not turned on nearly as much.

I would encourage you to get a book by John Piper called :Seeing and Savouring Christ” it is awesome for helping us understand our role in this world and what it means to reflect Jesus more.

  88. olsaners Says:

Robin, I hear what you are saying, God has used Joyce’s ministry to effect transformation in your life. I beleive God will use what we offer Him. If God could only use the perfect than He would be limited to His Spirit having full effect. Think about it this way, was Judas not used by Jesus in His ministry on earth. Judas was a dicsiple and Christ was able to use Him to further His kingdom. Judas was limited because of selfish desires for what he was able to or willing to offer Christ. I think God can, has and will use Joyce’s ministry but is she offering all that she can offer for God to use her fully. A big downfall for Christians is that we think of people as 100 % saved, 100% succesful in ministry and if it’s not 100% than it is not of God.

I beleive the comments from people that are concerned about her ministry is that she does not teach all truth and she does not offer God all her wealth but for what she does offer God can still use her. It is the Spirit of God that invoked change in you not Joyce but the Spirit can still speak truth into your life through words that she says. God uses tv, movies, books, languages and even donkeys if need be. The focus for you should not be on Joyce but what is God saying to you right now and how does that continue to transform you.

Be like a Barean; Paul was a disciple of Christ, had a great number of people listening to him, converts daily, the ability to allow the Spirit to speak through him amazingly, wrote letters that invoked transformation of lives by the Spirit, BUT they still verified what he spoke with the scripture to make sure it was God’s Word.

  89. Robin Says:

I also know what you are saying. But you dont totaly understand me, I am not saying that she or any other preacher is perfect and I know you said that too. But exactly like you said he can and will use a donkey or any thing else he wants. He is God he has no limits. I am not just deffending Joyce in my coments I am deffending all christianity. Because every time you turn on the TV you hear people trying to find fault in preachers! And most times the things are found to be not true. What I am saying is that this is one of the devils main ways of taking the focus off God! and puting the focus on people and the fact that they are human and there for cabable of making a mistake. People are always looking for the perfect person to preach, and at the same time they are trying to find out whats wrong with them so they can feel better about them selves for not being perfect. Which is all based in pride which they all say they dont have but pride hides. Didn’t all the problems start that way the devil wanted to be better than God HIS PRIDE made him think he was better and could be better. He was jealous and wanted what God had are’nt all these people jealous as well! And would they be willing to do all she does to have what she has I dont beleive they would. Maybe people should really look into things before saying things about something they Know nothing about. Jocye Makes 250.000 a year she has no say so in what the people on the board decide to pay her. They have tried to give her a raise for the past few years wich she will not except. Her books sold last year made 1.69 million dollars which she kept none of! But put back in to the ministry, along with other gifts and offerings. She made the ministry far more than it ever paid her! She could and would be a multy millionair if she wanted to be from all of her book sales. But SHE has CHOSEN not to be! How many people writing all this would do that! NONE! and as for the Judas thing, try reading John13. Jesus didn’t use him, in verse 18 it says I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen:but that the scripture may be fulfilled,HE THAT EATETH WITH ME HATH LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME. Of course Jesus new what was going to happen he is God! But it was so they would beleive he was who he said he was! In another part of that chapter verse 2 it says the devil having now put put into the heart of Judas to betray him. God did not use him the devil did But God Did what he says. And he made it work for his good! In Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for the good to them who love God to those who are the called according to his purpose. What the devil plans for our hurt God turns and uses it for our good! In another part of scripture it say about Judas the one who would betray Jesus! Someone who is being used by God is not said to betray him. You know you sound just like the devil coming at Jesus with scripture hopeing to trick him by twisting the truth of what it really says! Nice try but I am not stupid! And I also want you to know that I never said my help came from joyce I am well aware of were all my help knowledge and breath of life comes from because I have a real personal realationship with Jesus Christ! I did long before Joyce And I will long after! Paul was an awsome man but he was also persecuded by the people as Jesus was and Joyce and every other christian on the face of the earth! and why because the devil hates us and you my friend help him in his dirty deed! You said if God could only use the perfect he would be limited. so your saying there are perfect people here on earth, and let me guess your one of them. In your mind I am sure you are! We have all fell short of the glory of God! Jesus was the ONLY perfect man to ever walk on earth! And they found fault in him, in there minds, but the truth is there was none so of course you can take a mear human and find fault, If you can find it in a perfect man! See pride no one wanting someone doing a better job at something than them so they dont have to feel bad for all they are not! We should all be helping and supporting each other instead of putting each other down! I leave with some words from God! Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brotheren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountian both yeildsalt water and fresh.Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. But wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is shown in peace of them that make peace.

  90. Olsaners Says:

I humbly apologize for not listening better to your points before responding. The value I was getting from Judas was not based on a one time experience near the end of Christs time on earth but the time in which Judas spent along side Jesus as He ministered to the people. I don’t beleive that God did not use Judas for good before Judas betrayed Christ, he did call him a disciple at one point.
I forwarn with caution about any teacher of the Word for the purpose that we are not perfect. I apoligize again for presenting myself as perfect or thinking of myself as any thing close to perfection. My comment “if God could only use the perfect” was not intended to say their is anyone perfect but to not limit God on needing people to see Himself glorified. I should have worded it differently, sorry.
We must hold teachers of the Word to the highest of standards or we befall a limited understanding of God’s spoken Word and its divine purpose. It is not my goal to bash Joyce or anyone else and I think you can look at what I have said and realize that I did not do that. As it is said at the end of your last comment “And the fruit of righteousness is shown in peace of them that make peace.” I again apoligize for not communicating to the fullest of my abilities.

  91. sad Says:

Have you ever heard hate the sin….not the sinner. That is my christian faith. I would never want to hurt or destroy you. I am sad that you spend soo much time verbally abusing my faith. It would be nice if all of you atheist would stop going after every chritian in the world because of specific insults to you. I didn’t do it. I know the bible says we all sin….that includes me…Yes I do hope for heaven…I pray to go….if there is a heaven Hurray for me that I made my peace with God…If there is no heaven…Life just ends…I’m not out anything. If there is a heaven and I refuse God….I would be out alot. I hope this does not offend anyone. Just food for thought. I actually do care…imagine that. If I may be so bold…I help you are happy in soul and all the people you care about. Honestly I mean no disrespect. Take care

  92. Robin Says:

I am sorry as well, and some of the things I said we’re not just to you but others on this site. The only reason I left any comments is for other people who have already been turned off to christianity. I wanted some truth put out there for them. Cause really no one should be pointing fingers at each other is my whole point. He who is with out sin cast the first stone! You may think these kind of things help to inform people, but really who is it helping. God will lead us to and away from who he wants or does not want! We dont need any one else telling us how to live, the Holy Spirit is our guid, and he will lead us!

  93. Olsaners Says:

Sad, I would like to know who you are talking to specifically or are you lumping everyone together? I have not slammed your faith and I am far from being an atheist. The touchy part about blogging is the tone of debate. The context of what everyone says is taken under the umbrella of debate and emotion.
Yes we all sin but that is not who we are, we are called to be holy as Christ is holy, righteous in the eyes of God and we are saints. In our position with Christ before God we must wrestle with what is true and what we must obey. The sad part in blogging I find is the lack of patience and careful instruction as we correct, rebuke and encourage as it says below. I have fallen into this trap myself and am trying to find ways to balance this.
    2 Timothy 4
    1) In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2) Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3) For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

  94. Olsaners Says:

Robin, thank you for accepting my apology and offering yours, it shows a willingness to dialog and I appreciate that. I fully agree that some people are and can be turned off to Christianity because of the presentation in dialog on blog’s.
I hear what you are saying when you say, “God will lead us to and away from who he wants or does not want! We don’t need any one else telling us how to live, the Holy Spirit is our guide, and he will lead us!”

How do we recognize the Spirit of truth when someone is speaking or ministering?
How does God lead us to or away from?
How do we recognize the Spirit of God over the Spirit of self or of false words?

  96. Proof Says:

My contribution is not on the tone of emails or the lack of biblical texts to back some of the statements. I merely have one question to ask – if there are so many Christians out there honestly striving to live a life like Christ, how come we have the world as totally messed up as it is? Could it be that we are so absorbed in how right our opinion is that we refuse to let the Spirit/Scripture do its work in our lives?
May I throw a challenge out that for everything you read that you disagree with, back it up with scripture – you may be pleasantly surprised what you think the Word says and what is actually written.

    Peace be with you all

  97. Jeremy Says:

    Proof,
sadly I find a lot of people do not want to talk about the Bible and what a passage says but what they understand and How their knowlege and experience of God supports their opinion. I don’t think the bible is that hard to understand as much as it is hard to obey.

I accidently found my way to this blog and was astonished to see what’s going on in here. I am compelled to say to those who venture here, ” This blog/website is brought to you by the spirit of the anti-christ” also know that it is written that satan himself quoted scripture. Dont waste your energy arguing with demons..simply pull down every stronghold and bind them in the name of Jesus. There is no name, no power above the name of Jesus. There is so much good to do. There is no good fruit here and I feel maybe an inkling of what Jesus may have felt when he was hungry and looked for some good fruit on the fig tree and there was none..So I curse this blog/webpage that it wither at the root. For verily I say unto you That whoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he/she says. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Father God I stand forgiving and I stand believing that not by might, not by power but by your SPIRIT, living GOD this mountain be removed. Thank you Father.

  100. MARLA LYONS Says:

i have a MAJOR spiritual, mental, emotional, and, yes, even physical problem with mrs. meyer. i hesitate to call her pastor, reverend, or even joyce because, while i feel REALLY crappy about not liking this person in any way, shape, or form, i cannot completely justify my feelings. i listened to her for the first time about 13 years ago when her television ministry was conducted in a hotel meeting room. there was something about her that just didn’t sit right with me then, but i endured because i wanted to be sure i wasn’t succumbing to my own weakness. so, i watched and i watched and i listened. still uncomfortable, i decided to take what i wanted and leave the rest as the 12 steps groups suggest. one day, though, i heard a audio tape of one of her joyce fest sermons wherein she continued to regale the audience with how she “likes things elegant” and proceeded to tell the tale of how she unapologetically inform her secretary that she disliked a particular dress of hers and that she would purchase an outfit that she found more appropriate since this particular secretary was representing her. that was the last straw for me. though i continued to listen to mrs. meyer, i found that my distaste for her grew and grew despite my realization that, of the two of us, i was obviously the one with the “problem”. i offer my two cents, and let’s face it, that’s all one’s opinion is really worth, because i am ashamed that someone who appears to proudly disclose her arrogance and ignorance is exalted and, at least, materially blessed such as she and, worse yet, represents the Saviour. do i begrudge the meyers their material worth??? absolutely not. what i do begrudge their spokeswoman is her incessant overconfidence that she is doing the Lord’s work when her attitude smacks of pride, which we all know is the mark of the enemy. am i perfect. hell, no!!!!!!!!!!! if i was, i guess i wouldn’t be speaking (or writing) my mind like i am. i’m just feeling disgusted and confused as to what God is allowing to to be “fishers of men” these days. (and yes, i am well aware of the biblical references to the emotional maladies exhibited by the disciples in Jesus’ time, as well as Revelations’ and others admonishments regarding false preachers in the last days). thank you.

(what i mean is that apart from the other intangibles associated with thoughts feelings, intuition, and leadings of the Holy Spirit, i acutally get physically sick when i hear some of the things she says).i hesitate to call her pastor, reverend, or even joyce because, while i feel REALLY crappy about not liking this person in any way, shape, or form, i cannot completely justify my feelings. i listened to her for the first time about 13 years ago when her television ministry was conducted in a hotel meeting room. there was something about her that just didn’t sit right with me then, but i endured because i wanted to be sure i wasn’t succumbing to my own weakness. so, i watched and i watched and i listened. still uncomfortable, i decided to take what i wanted and leave the rest as the 12 steps groups suggest. one day, though, i heard a audio tape of one of her joyce fest sermons wherein she continued to regale the audience with how she “likes things elegant” and proceeded to tell the tale of how she unapologetically inform her secretary that she disliked a particular dress of hers and that she would purchase an outfit that she found more appropriate since this particular secretary was representing her. that was the last straw for me. though i continued to listen to mrs. meyer, i found that my distaste for her grew and grew despite my realization that, of the two of us, i was obviously the one with the “problem”. i offer my two cents, and let’s face it, that’s all one’s opinion is really worth, because i am ashamed that someone who appears to proudly disclose her arrogance and ignorance is exalted and, at least, materially blessed such as she and, worse yet, represents the Saviour. do i begrudge the meyers their material worth??? absolutely not. what i do begrudge their spokeswoman is her incessant overconfidence that she is doing the Lord’s work when her attitude smacks of pride, which we all know is the mark of the enemy. am i perfect. hell, no!!!!!!!!!!! if i was, i guess i wouldn’t be speaking (or writing) my mind like i am. i’m just feeling disgusted and confused as to what God is allowing to to be “fishers of men” these days. (and yes, i am well aware of the biblical references to the emotional maladies exhibited by the disciples in Jesus’ time, as well as Revelations’ and others admonishments regarding false preachers in the last days). thank you.

No matter how she lives someone will always have something negative to say. You all should not judge, that is not our call. I feel alot of resentment from you people towards someone who a least try to stair poeple into the right direction. What good have you done for mankind? Ask yourself. Question: How do you know if the holy spirit didnt instruct her to live that way. (Thats if you know anything about Gods holy force.) People always tend to look for the bad and not the good, always judging a book by the cover. You dont know the full facts about why she is in the position she is in. She was bless for her deeds maybe if you apply her ways then you will have all that she has or maybe more. Ever heard the saying that you reap what you sow. Well she is reaping what she sow. Stop hating let yourself be free of toxic its not good for your health. I feel sadden for you people to see the judgement you cast on her without any facts. She has heaven on earth for herself because she serves God. If she is a fake then trust me God will expose her in his time. My advise to you all is look at yourself, take the log out of your eyes before you try to take the speck out of your brothers/sisters eye. My wish for you haters is that you clean up the way you think, re-new your mind and clean your heart and seek wisdon. Pray for the zeal to seek God and stay in his word. It is later than we think and time is running out we all need to live better internally. Nothing else matters in this world only what God requires of us. Satin is using you and slowing killing you but you are too dumb and stupid to realize. Please people wake up and find that universal love. Stop being a stranger to yourself and find you. When you seek spiritual wisdom you open your third eye and you can see truth. You can relate to truth. You can look at a person spirit and know who they are and thats a spiritual power. You are powerless people I can tell from the things you say about this woman. Life is a joke to you. You dont know the true value of life. Therefore your judgement will hard because of your lack of understanding. I hope I reach out and touch someone today. Stop letting people tell you what is right and wrong and seek these things out for yourselves. I love you all, but Jesus and the Father loves you best.

the fact is you’re all wrong about the whole subject! yeah i said it, pretty bold uhhh… well the reason you’re wrong is because this lady brings in way more money than the 4 houses on what looks to be a very small piece of land. its all relative… so she’s done well selling her books about Christ or some audio tapes… who cares.. you’re all mad because people support her and you don’t.. wow.. if you had the next big idea, you so called true christians that are running your mouths on here would make as much as you could off of it and say, well “it’s okay, i made it off of something that has nothing to do with my faith so it’s all good”.. that’s horsht…you’re all also writing about stuff on here that will never have an affect on your life or salvation because God doesn’t hear it.. i suggest you worry about yourselves rather than others you dislike or start worrying about others you do like a lot more.. the fact is Joyce hasn’t broken the law and if God wants to send her to hell He will… but it doesn’t look like he has yet.. does it? if anything you will realize by reading my comment that you have a sinful nature because whenever you speak about anyone critically who has not done or said anything to you personally.. you are judging with your ego.. she’s not tricking anybody with that smokers voice and such…. you’re all being ridiculous to think she is tricking someone.. most people can’t stand the voice… and well i might add for all the money they have they picked a really awful state or place to live. you couldn’t pay me to live in that cold place year round.. im from the south and trust me when people up north make lots of money, they move south.. snowbirds.. haha… who cares… most normal people would call her smart… you know who has tricked all of you don’t you… the guys with this silly blog.. their making money off of your babble…. way to go all you guys that started this company… way to make the world a better place.. haha.. nothing ever gets accomplished with these sorts of sites… your enemy joyce still lives in the big house which is like her spending 99 cents at mcdonalds… i might add… you know why she will always have more than you or be at peace with it.. it’s because your wrong… yeah i said it just like i started this comment.. and you can literally take that to the bank.. ps. most of you will never really gain anymore knowledge because your ego stops you at the door. that should make you feel like crap.. people, if you let it down you’ll see more. there are several people in the bible that God promoted according the scriptures… i don’t think Joyce would continue doing what she is doing if it was about the money… wouldn’t she retire if she was really all abt money.. i mean come on.. Christ already did everything.. which means you don’t have to worry abt all this but go try to save others.. i bet the guy that posted this has a book or two he would love to sell you. the guy that posted this is not helping a thing. he sits around and laughs at all the attention you guys give it.. i would suggest to you all to not come back! ya hear!

  107. truthsayer Says:

First I will say that I am not a Joyce Meyer fan as far as watching her on TV or anywhere else for that matter but I stumbled across your site unfortunate by accident but after reading your self righteous rhetoric, I felt the deep desire to post a short response.

You are a self-righteous hypocrite to utilize all of these resources to attack someone that is a proclaimed child of God whether you agree with what she teaches or not. I have heard some of her teachings and she is biblically correct on most of her teachings that I have heard. Either way unless I specifically heard something that was not biblical I certainly would not attempt to show my jealousy and envy of her as you have done here.

You are not doing anything in any way to edify God, the Kingdom of God, The family of God or The Son and our Savior Jesus Christ. You are not doing anything at all productive as far as leading people to Christ you are simply a lost individual seeking to get some uneducated and angry people to praise you for your ignorant attacks on a Teacher of God and one that God has chosen to use to increase His kingdom. If you want to some type of good for the kingdom of God you might first try to read and study the scriptures yourself and then apply the teachings of Christ in your own life by actually preaching the gospel and leading the lost to Christ. You may have some type of angry jealousy towards Mrs. Meyer but she has certainly lead many to Jesus Christ as their Savior and that is far more than anyone can say for you. You are completely ignorant to attempt to teach that just because you serve God you are to live in a shack under a bridge, as you would have people to believe. God actually does love His children and HE does desire for them to have a nice lifestyle that is according to His blessings on each person, as HE desires not according to what you think someone should have. You have no idea what type of financial help she gives to anyone she may out give anyone else in this country for all anyone on here knows. I would bet anything that she out gives you for certain.

It totally perturbs me to see someone such as yourself to actually seek praise from others for being a complete fool in representing my Lord and Savior. I can guarantee that if the Holy Spirit was living in you and leading you in your actions you would never have engaged in such a satanic attack on a sister in Christ. Now simply ask yourself what good have you done for God in this stupid attack? What do people that do not know the Lord as their personal Savior think when they see someone like you claiming to be such a Christian attacking another child of God that spends her entire life serving Him? Do you think that makes lost souls desire to be a part of such a family? I think not! Now do yourself and the Lord some God and get this wasted space off of the internet and use this space to tell people about the love of Jesus Christ, the Amazing Grace that is offered to anyone that will accept it and tell the world that the only way to enter into the kingdom of God is through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ only.

Mat 7:3 Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the log in your own eye?

“ Now go and spread the good news of the gospel to the far ends of the earth” “Love each other as Christ has loved you”

Obviously, people that support someone as extravagant as this Joyce Meyers are lost. If someone was sincere that was running an organization such as hers they would give till it hurts and live a reasonable lifestyle. If she wants to live like that on other peoples donations and I mean donations she needs to start a business Oops I think now the IRS says it is a business she should be honest and call it a business and pay taxes like the rest of us….And smartguy on the cheap shot at the nuns don’t talk about people who sacrifice much and give much and don’t ask for lear jets and $1000 pant suits they just want to help other human beings and ask nothing in return except that they want everyone to be saved and happy….Joyce, maybe started out doing what the nuns do but she got lost on the way so pray she finds the path….

You all probably believe that god wants us poor and destitue, if Jesus died on the cross for our sins then I believe that he also died for us to be able to prosper to minister to the poor and needy…(maybe a tad to heavy for y’all)… I think you all need to spend less time judging and more time studying the word and unhiding all the things that are keeping you from being truly blessed!!

  111. Rusty Wheeler Says:

I watch Joyce Meyers’ program sometimes on weekday mornings because I like to keep tabs on the TeleChurch and how contemporary Christians are thinking, and as I listen carefully, this is what I’ve noticed.

She has a few OK ideas, and some fairly sound advice. She also has some questionable convictions. Her interactions with guests are often instructive, although never earth-shatteringly so. Ultimately, the REAL wisdom that she DOES sell could be nicely packaged under the label ‘common sense.’ What it really is is POPULAR PSYCHOLOGY with just a little Bible to back it up. Nothing truly good that comes out of her ministry requires any faith, just a decent outlook and a willingness to grow and change and understand others. Of course, as a rational humanist, I’m filtering out most of the clearly cuckoo allegations regarding the efficacy of prayer, the importance of being “Armed & Dangerous” (a real JM audio teaching!) and the like… I’m listening for what resonates as ‘good’ regardless of ideology.

One episode recently featured a ‘Bible study’, but it was really just a round table discussion about the ‘Five Love Languages’ (is that scriptural?) with one of her daughters and a few employees from the studio. They talked about how they make their marriages work and learn to communicate better with their spouses. It was all very clear and centered on ideas of compassion, listening, etc. Only two scriptures were briefly referenced. Pop psych, catchy lesson plans titles, and candid discussion of human interaction do not make a Bible study. And when your ‘commercial message’ breaks advertise the very ‘audio teaching’ that the show revolves around, well… now we’re in infomercial territory.

Whatever. Clearly, Joyce is a businesswoman, and has pioneered an enterprise, and is profitable. Jerks have been bleeding suckers dry since the dawn of jerks and suckers. It’s capitalism, it’s the American Way, and it would all be fine and well if it were CALLED a commercial enterprise, and treated as such. What is deeply offensive is that it’s NOT; it’s labeled a ‘ministry,’ part of God’s work on earth, and is therefore TAX EXEMPT. A staff of employees helps her write, edit, proofread, record, design, broadcast, package, market, and advertise a BRAND (Joyce Meyers) and a PRODUCT (audio teachings.) How is this not an industry? If I buy this product, I make my check out not to a church, but to Joyce Meyer Ministries. Why will she not be taxed on this income? If Joyce Meyers leads anyone to Christ, then, according to her own teachings, that glory belongs to Christ, not Joyce Meyers. But Joyce gets paid. Tax-free.

I also have to say: The very fact that believers on both sides of the Joyce Meyers fence can and do use the Good Book as both sword and shield and (predictably) lob scriptures back and forth at one another is very clear evidence (to me anyway) that the Bible is a highly unreliable source of moral (or any other) guidance.

I’ll take common sense any day. And MY common sense sez: “Joyce Meyers = pretty lame.”

Still good for a laugh, though.

  112. sue woody Says:

Joyce meyers is along with the majority of the prosperity preachers preaching a jezebel idolitrous lie. God is the God of the poor christians in Mexico, Africa, China, and other countries which live in abject poverty. IF
God blesses us with wealth, it is to be used for helping the poor. An oppulent life style and shameless luxury is not representative of what Christ stands for. IF any man love the world and the things in this world
they CANNOT be my deciple. To love this world is to be at enmity with God. Only mis guided, un disciplined, baby christians would ever buy her rabble.

  115. John Densmore Says:

joyce this, joyce that….the idea in all matters of engagement with eachother is to take the good as you see it, to become a better human being, and leave the bad, as you see it. only we ourselves know how that fits into our lives and that’s how God equipped us. people have been battling for ever over stuff, thier stuff and others stuff, whatever that stuff may be…. and that will always be the case where people are concerned anyway. that’s not pesimistic, its just truth and its up to us individually to overcome and keep from becoming all that we hate…a feat we are offered daily to do …if we want to that is. i’d think we can all agree that none of us have it down and have a bead on it …. just look how we treat eachother sometimes. cmon’ get real… none of us are innocent and especially to eachother. we all have dirt and we all have a choice regarding if we want to be cleaned or remain dirty. its all about choice and the heart. christ himself told us there is life and death…he went on to say ‘please choose life’. some have interpreted that as a commandment which, as you can read, is a suggestion, not a commandment. its love in its pursest form… having the power to ‘make’ but willing to request. now to me that’s something worth talking about.
so you have this woman named joyce meyer and she does this and she has that and, and, and ….count yourself in. we all can say that about ourselves, some more some less but does the amount of whatever ‘that’ is really matter ? in my opinion, no. it all comes down to a heart condition. our heart is either full of life or full of death and its our actions that will play the screen of our heart. for me, i’m continue to try to work on myself and with his help, love and mercy, i’m believing i’ll be able to do at least one thing right before i take my last breath. so some say she should eat burgers and some say she should eat prime rib….. that’s all to be discussed between her and God. we’d all do well to look into our own hearts and see what we can do personally to make it all alittle bit better all around and in us because the good news is that we have that power….if we choose life. what a deal, what a gift !

  116. martha Says:

i think its terrible that you would pick on this woman who does nothing but help people. a laborer is worthy of its keep. she is a wonderful giving god fearing woman who has been delivered from so much . she shares her life good or bad because its not about her its what the lord has done for her. only someone who has experienced this can understand. i love her she been so helpful to me in so many ways . encouraged me taught me that i am not alone in situations. thank god for joyce and all the other ministers of god who are diligently working to proclaim the gospel of good news. touch not gods anointed shes gods business .

One Sunday morning I woke up put my TV on and I watched her speaking, Since then I have decided to renew my faith in the lord and become born again she is brilliant and anyone who doesnt think so is an idiot, she doesnt profess to be perfect, only one person ever was. God is the only one with the right to Judge and if she is spreading the work, and helping people find God which she is, then to insult her and to try an find fault with her is not what God wants he told her to spread the word and turn people into believers and that is exactly what she is doing. She is human like all of us and therefore incapable of absolute perfection. Get over yourselves why are you dissing someone who is doing Gods work, God gave her a gift and she is using it to do Gods work. No one who is fulled with the love of Jesus Christ is going to listern to you, You reflect contempt.

Living lavishly has nothing to do with reward from God. If spreading the wealth was priority, there would be no Meyer compound! End of story. I am not saying, “live poor Joyce”. I am saying, “your greedy”! Helping a family that has no sofa does not mean give them your old and buy youself new.
Besides this, who could learn about forgiveness in her messages when she has not forgiven her father. She has beat this dead horse into the ground. She says in today’s message, “to forgive is to drop it, leave it, let it go”. Yet every airing has this message, my father sexually abused me. That is a visual I can live without much less forced upon me at every viewing. Her father can not repay her for what has been taken, but it seems she is seeking that which can not be obtained…repayment instead of cancellation. Perhaps her repayment comes in the form of donations to a bleeding heart? To take it a step further, she now has her staff bringing it up on air. Give it a rest lady. This constant regergitation is sickening!

What would be the difference if Joyce Myers occupation was a doctor of some sorts…which in a way she is, in my opinion, she helps people better their lives. I think God has just greatly blessed her for her faithfullness and willingness for sharing His message of life. May God bless you also!

  127. Roxanne Says:

Earlier on, a person said, “I think everyone should pay taxes, even ministers!”….Ministers DO pay income tax, just like everyone else. My father in law and brother in law are both ministers, and they file a return every year, and are held accountable for their income and expenditures just like everyone else. The church they work for is considered tax exempt, NOT the pastor and his salary. I don’t know that much about Joyce Meyers, but believe me, the IRS is keeping track, and we all don’t have to be too worried about it.

  128. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Jamie,

If Joyce Meyer were a doctor, etc. she would not be making her living by selling Christianity to the masses and claiming to represent Christ. She often claims “the Holy Spirit is going to preach today” meaning she believes her words are inspired by Christ and she uses those words to become pig-fat rich on the donations of others.

But maybe you’re right. Maybe Jesus, Paul and the 12 didn’t serve God faithfully enough to be blessed by God like Joyce is.

  129. JesusLovesJoyceAndYou Says:

  130. rys Says:

I think Joyce appeals sometimes to people like me, who are going through a great emotional trail and for some reason have fallen away from the faith or never had it. She makes you feel better, like a having a mom with all the answers for a hurt. I listened to her for years and wouldn’t have missed her show for anything. She says people call her their spiritual mother and that is how I viewed her too.

Somewhere along the way I got serious about my faith and started looking into it more deeply. I became uncomfortable with the way she plugged her and others books in the middle of each show. I know the bills have to be paid, but it seemed to me to be just self help and pop-psychology. The few verses of the word she was quoting was giving the plugging a somewhat questionable validity. It was making merchandise of Gods word. After all this time I feel I did not learn what I needed to about being a new Christian from her.

She does not seem to understand that we are not miserable sinners in as far as we are justified by Christs sacrifice and our faith, yet in ourselves we are zilch. She is obviously a proud woman and sometimes I can’t believe how she toots her own horn. She takes old testament stories and uses them to teach us about self esteem issues, that I have the feeling have nothing to do with the passage. She has said that Christ became born again in hell which is super scary. She says she only knows this from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I find myself believing this and I become confused and terrified I am making a huge mistake.

After all this time with her I need to find a good bible study course. I don’t feel grounded and for all her getting me through a bad patch, she did not teach me to go forward. She hands out Joyce Meyer books to prisons and the dis-advantaged around the world — what we need is Gods word. That is why by listening to her we scratch our itching ears and never can stand fast.

I think she is a great motivational speaker. I don’t hate her, I love her, I am just through believing she can teach what I need to know to be an effective Christian through the Joyce Meyer road show. Where is the Word Joyce? You tell us to read our bible, but where do we go for meat when we are through with milk? There are so many of us looking to you instead of God. I hope he gives us all wisdom and love in this debate.

Man looks at the outward appearance, but God knows the heart…

Judas could not wait to accuse the woman who dumped thousands of dollars of perfume on our Lords feet. He thought it was a waist of money and should have been used for better means.

Let me ask you a question: I have a ministry, I also sell books and I have investments in commercial real estate… I have a million dollar home and as my resources grow I would consider building a community where I could host and welcome guests as such. Am I corrupt because I have these aspirations? Are these aspirations corrupt?

  132. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

Are you living in luxury and self-indulgence? By any measure you wish to use, Joyce Meyers does. The source of our income doesn’t really matter, how much we make doesn’t really matter, what matters is how we use what we have whether much or little.

If loving others is where your heart is, you’ll spend your money loving others rather than in loving yourself.

  133. teresa Says:

It seems to me that people never take the time to get to know the subject before they embarrass themselves with some off the wall comment. But then again that is the great thing about America, freedom of speech. I would be careful with my wagging tongue if I were you because if you are wrong about Joyce and her ministry then you will have GOD to deal with and he does protect and love his children more than any of us can ever understand. There are millions of people all over the world who can honestly say that their lives have been changed by her teaching and have a closer love walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. To make fun of her appearance is just plain meanness and obviously you were never taught if you can’t say something nice keep your lip zipped. If you want to know if she is the real deal then take time to get to know the Word of God and after you have developed a more personal relationship with the Holy Spirit he will reveal to you the truth. Without his guidance you have no wisdom and you wouldn’t know the truth of a thing if it smacked you in the face.

  134. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

Joyce Meyer is consumed with greed. How do I know? She has every outward appearance of materialism. How are we in the church to respond to those who are consumed with greed, which is idolatry? Remove them from the fellowship.

Are you scared of God Teresa? I’m not. At least, not in the way you mean it here. It is for freedom that Christ has set me free so I don’t worry too much about judgment from God.

  135. Ed Says:

I don’t agree with the tenor of this website. You and your site participants seem to be full of hate and that goes against any biblical teachings that I have read. There is nowhere in the Bible that I know of that says you have to be dirt poor all your life if you want to preach and help other humans.

  136. Paul Says:

3 Billion people live on less than $2.00 per day.

More than half the world entered this century unable to read or sign their names.

You, WhoreChurch, need some perspective. and an encounter with God to by the way.

By your logic you too leave a ‘pornographic’ life full of excess and inequality and injustice. If you own a computer, why not sell it and give make a difference to one of the millions for whom this provision could mean life or death.

Do you really think that your life of ‘excess’ is any different to anyone else’s in the eyes of the Living God. Because surely, if you bought a cup of coffee this week, are literate enough to read this message, you are blessed beyond thinking in most of the worlds eyes.

Please do something more with your over-abundant life than try to destroy the character of someone who has herself given in her poverty and now also in her riches.

To whom much is given, much will be required.

Joyce gives far more than i ever could and God knows how much she has given. I don’t – and neither do you.

Mr or Mrs WhoreChurch, you should read the bible sometime – it will bless you. I think you missed a few pages.

I pray that God will heal you of your current illness which i won’t mention here. and I also pray for your family that they are not destroyed by following your hate-filled example in life.

It’s not hate, it’s stern warning. Consider it an intervention. I love you so much I have to show you tough love. Let me love you, Ed. Let me spank you like Jesus. Do you need discipline Ed?

    Paul,

I don’t have a computer. I gave my last penny–as well as my computer–to Joyce Meyer years ago. Now I post from a computer in my local library. Plus even if I had a computer I don’t have electricity in my refrigerator box.

  138. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Paul (part II),

pray that God will heal you of your current illness which i won’t mention here

You promised me that if I took the penicillin the disease you gave me would go away and no one would know. Now you’re mentioning it on a public blog. Have you no shame?

  139. DOROTHY Says:

WHEN IT COMES TO THE AMOUNT OF MONEY JOYCE HAS MADE
IT IS NOT FOR US TO JUDGE.
WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE STORES THAT SELL THE BIBLE AND MAKE A PROFIT OFF OF IT.
ALL BIBLES SHOULD BE GIVEN OUT FREE.
PEOPLE WILL READ MANUALS ON HOW THEIR NEW APPLIANCES WORK, OR HOW TO PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE READ THE BIBLE FROM COVER TO COVER. THE BIBLE IS OUR PERSONAL MANUAL ON HOW TO LIVE AND TO LIVE A GOOD LIFE.
YOU BETTER READ IT BECAUSE SATAN KNOWS IT WORD FOR WORD AND HE WILL USE IT TO GET TO YOU IF YOU DON’T USE IT TO DEFEND YOURSELF
SO WE ALL NEED TO WORRY ABOUT OURSLVES AND GETTING RIGHT WITH GOD AND LET GOD’S JUDGEMENT TAKE CARE OF THE REST

  140. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

  141. totaltransformation Says:

Maybe she is just THAT angry? HA!

  142. shelld1031 Says:

Joyce Meyer lead me to salvation in Christ. I happened across one of her broadcasts on tv and then started watching regularly. After about a month of her teachings, and attending one awesome convention with my sister, my husband and I found a really fantastic church in our community and were baptized. We regularly attend church and are now active in our community. So I say if at 61 years old she can live comfortably while she outreaches all over the world, go her. If she’s screwing people out of money, she’ll face ultimate judgement. If not, then she’s enriching God’s kingdom. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

  143. Jaime Says:

I never understood the women pastors who preach the word, and completely disreguard the passages on women not teaching men, or usurping authority over a man.

I’m a Christian and I think she is wrong. For all of you who say not to judge: read your Bible. God says for us to judge those inside the church.

  144. Patty Says:

I was interested in your photo of Joyce Meyer’s estate. Can you get a picture of Mark Hankins’ in/near Alexandria, LA?

  145. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Patty,

If you have an address chances are you can find it on Google earth.

  146. Ron Says:

    @ Jaime

wat comes to mind is something i heard Reinhard Bonkke(an evangelist) say.
If ur drowning would u care if a woman or a man saved U?As long as U are saved u should be glad. That is simply wat Mrs Meyers is doing. The Word of God can be preached by anyone as long as he/she is led by the Holy Spirit to do so.

And all of U totally disregard the millions of lives she has saved and move on into mundane matters like where she lives. She has bore fruits through her teachings. Is that so hard to comprehend? If it is i pray u open ur hearts and ur minds and let God tell U if she is true or false.

If U still find it hard to believe then let ur fatih save you.

    God bless U all.

  147. wynandco Says:

yes sandy. I think that we must stop using our energy on braking down but building up. Lets take time to rest with Jesus and grow closer to
Him. the devil is steeling our time and prayers. same goes for the pasion of the Christ. may god bless you and your families in good. Amen

  148. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

You’re right wynandco–and let’s also ignore criminal fraud, lies, and robbery of the innocent in the name of religion.

    Oh, and spelling.

  149. Wynandco Says:

Ok. That is not what i ment. Jesus said that the one without sin can cast the first stone. She is fammily in Jesus. Have you exepted the Lord Jesus in you live. That other guy said that we can judge christians. I really want to know what bible he is reading. We will be judge with the messure we judge. Sorry for my spelling. I’m afrikaans. God’s blessing to you.

  150. totaltransformation Says:

“That other guy said that we can judge christians. I really want to know what bible he is reading.”

    Perhaps this one…

1 Corinthians 5:11-13 (New International Version)

But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”

  151. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Wynandco,

    What he said.

    Total Tranny,

Thanks for handling that one for me. I was busy at the virgin sacrifice and it’s great you picked up the slack.

  152. totaltransformation Says:

Not a problem. Swing by my blog soon and check out my latest post on the novel I plan on writing when I finish grad school.

  153. Jaime Says:

Let me get one thing straight: I am not a guy, I’m a woman.

    Ron,

This comes down to whether you believe the Bible to be the word of God. If you do, then read 1 Timothy 2:12, and 1 Corinthians 14:33b-38.

If you are going to argue that cultural changes have made it where woman can preach and teach over men, then I guess homosexuality is ok, as well.

Furthermore, what Satan intends for evil, God can use for good. However, Joyce Myers “end” can not justify the means.

And the Holy Spirit isn’t going to direct anyone to contradict the word of God.

  154. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Jaime,

So is stoning rebellious children a good idea? Slavery?

    Just asking.

  155. Jaime Says:

    Kevin,

Old testament, eye for an eye.

New Testament, give him your tunic and go an extra mile.

Things have changed from one testament to another, or at least some things have.

Bottom line, if you call yourself a Christian you need to live in accordance to the Bible as best you can. You do not get to pick and choose which scriptures sound good to you and how you apply those.

Which going back to Joyce Meyers, is exactly what she does.

  156. Jaime Says:

    p.s. Ron,

Notice your emphasis on “the countless lives SHE has saved”: that’s just it, its all HER glory.

  157. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Jaime,

What is your understanding of God’s morality? Did it change?

  158. Wynandco Says:

Totaltransformation Paul was not talking about annointed ones. He was talking to them about the church. We can not liet our hand against the annointed ones. The old testament is to show us how to live. Surely some stuff we do differend. What do you study. Hi jamie and kevin. I have trouble submitting my stuff. Maybe its spelling. Ha ha.

  159. totaltransformation Says:

“Totaltransformation Paul was not talking about annointed (sic) ones.”

Really? What leads you to that conclusion? How does one go about getting the title of “anointed one” so they can act act immorally and yet remain free from any criticism from their brothers? So the church is like Animal Farm- but instead of pigs, some Christians are more equal than others.

“He was talking to them about the church.”

    And your point?

“We can not liet (sic) our hand against the annointed (sic) ones.”

Sounds like a sweet deal. But I don’t think anyone lifted a hand against her- they simply pointed out her more than lavish lifestyle which is inconsistent with the lifestyle of a servant of God.

“The old testament is to show us how to live. Surely some stuff we do differend (sic).”

This comment makes no sense since it bears no relation to your previous comments. No offense, but I am taking it that English isn’t your first language?

    “What do you study.”

The Bible, history books, historical texts, classical literature, pretty much whatever I can get my hands on. Why are you interested in knowing?

  160. wynandco Says:

Just asking.i’m just curios to know, what you study. do you study fulltime. i do theology part time. i’m a building consultant and have vary little time to learn. You know your bible very well i see. English is not my first language. I’m afrikaans.

  161. Jaime Says:

    Kevin,

Gods morality did not change (you seem inteligent, so I am sure you are aware of “God is the same yesterday, today and forever.”) However, the way he carries things out are different. His actions are not his character. There is a difference.

Having written that, I must add here: I know what I know, and I know that’s not a lot. lol. I won’t pretend to have all of the answers. My problem isn’t with “non” Christians, I don’t expect them to have an understanding of the Bible (even though some are more knowledgable), but I do have a problem with people claiming Christianity, and picking which scriptures they want to abide by.

I thought this site was interesting. And I agree that there are Christians who are foolish enough and greedy enough to send money to support someone they shouldn’t.

I’m not above considering the opinions of people who don’t have the same religious beliefs as me. And I’m not above thinking they may have a point.

    Respectfully,
    Jaime

    Respectfully,
    Jaime

  162. totaltransformation Says:

“English is not my first language. I’m afrikaans.”

You speak English better than I speak my second language- Spanish. Where are you from in Africa?

    “do you study fulltime”

As a Ph.D. student, yes, you could say studying is my full-time job.

  163. wynandco Says:

Thanks. I’m from Cape Town , South africa. If you speak spanish. where are you from. I thought your from Amerika.

  164. totaltransformation Says:

It is my heritage on my mother’s side of the family, and I am required to learn a language for my Ph.D. program- so why not Spanish.

  165. wynandco Says:

    totaltransformaion

Sounds good. So i have this confusion. (I know that the devil is the father of confusion). I’m a youth leader. My pastor wanted to appoint a leader (cell). knowing who it was, and that he has bad temper en smokes and sayes that it is not sin and the bible sayes that it is not sin,i asked my pastor to reconcider. after i spoke to my pastor 5 times and tried to convince the guy to lay down, he got appointed. it contradicts what i learn the youth. I’m i wrong. what must i do. ( i have been told to submit)

  166. totaltransformation Says:

Check back in a couple days and I will tell you my response- I won’t have time until Monday to write a thorough response. Also ask Kevin what he thinks.

  167. wynandco Says:

    Totaltransformation, kevin

    Thanks. Kevin
Will you please check it out to.
    10:20 I’m going to sleep.
oh. Its my b.day. happy b.day to you also kevin.

  168. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

    Wynandco,

Smoking is not a sin. People like to teach it is a sin because it is bad for you. From time immemorial people have wanted to control others by telling them that whatever is unhealthy or socially unacceptable was sin–whether their religious books tell them that or not.

Typically they use scriptures taken out of context and project them onto actions they don’t want people engaging in. Like smoking.

If you teach the youth good reasons not to smoke that have nothing to do with their faith, they will be better off.

But possibly you knew all this already and are just worried about the person your pastor appointed not doing what you think he ought to do. That is the pastor’s call, not yours, so I would recommend you just let it go.

    Happy birthday.

  169. wynandco Says:

    Kevin
Thanks. I see what you mean.
I just thought that smoking is like, you know some pastors preach that
its part of a spirit(demon) of addiction. is that not true, and do you think that some people only try to see negative stuff. bless you.

  170. Artmeus Says:

I agree with the author of this blog, I have been caught up in this supposed prosperity gospel for years and finally I am able to see with my own eyes the truth and will not give anymore to these greedy preachers. I gave to my wealthy pastor for 10 years while me and my family went without. He preached God would bless us because his congregation gave out of their needs. Men, Women and children STILL WENT WITHOUT! Without good clothing, cars, food etc. While my former pastor lived, and still does in a million dollar home, while
some faithful parishioners live in public housing and cannot afford a car is this what Jesus would do..?

In addition, for those who say in this blog, ” don’t judge ” than you are like
a person who sees a person get beaten in a public place ( like a woman getting attacked & beat) then you just see the deed and walk away, you may also say someone else will help her/him, I have no right to point out the fault or wrongdoing of anyone.

    Here is a scripture
    Luke 10:30-37

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins[a] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36″Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

We are to love our neighbor, but we if we do not say anything than we are guilty too. If your brother or sister is in sin, we are obligated to bring it into the light for all to see.

I am in no way saying Joyce is not talented, she as well as many Christians have great and mighty talents, but even those with talents can become greedy and fall to pleasures while forgetting our brothers & sisters that are in great need of food, clothing, transportation, housing etc. Im sure that the brothers and sisters in this blog, pointing out some abuses by Mrs. Myers love her, but are brave enough to tell the truth! It’s not Hate! it’s Love! Jesus showed tough love too!

Remember what Jesus said about that Pharisees, If you all remember he really dogged them, Calling them sons of hell, and snakes etc. Remember these people were the ” Joyce Meyers, and the Benny Hinns ” of that day. He railed them because they abused their power and were called on it. The Religious supporters hassled Jesus just as brothers and sisters are being hassled on this blog by supporters of Myers, just as the the Pharisees were, 2000 yrs later this cycle has not changed. This is why we have our example of Jesus, we all still come short and all need his forgiveness and love.

    Best Regards & God Bless
    Artmeus

  171. Marc Says:

    People:

After reading everything here, it is amazing to me how you think God would allow somebody who is doing wrong continue ministering to his people. God did not intend for us to suffer or take vows of poverty…those are all fleshly thoughts contrived by man in order to appear holier than though. God has promised to bless us if we follow him and serve others. Everything Joyce has obtained has been ordained by God and not by her own doing. I wish people would lay off these preachers. Not to say that there aren’t any fraudulent ones out there. It’s just sad that CEO’s of large corporations don’t get this much attention when they rip off thousands of people by investing their retirement monies and completely losing it through fraudulent transactions. People make a big deal out of it just because these people are in ministries, and that’s prejudice and wrong. By all means if a preacher is doing corrupt things, the law shoudl prosecute, but leave those alone who are honest and work hard to obtain the material things they have.

  172. rys Says:

“God did not intend for us to suffer or take vows of poverty…those are all fleshly thoughts contrived by man in order to appear holier than though”

Marc — excuse me as depressed as I am by all this, I have something to say. Firstly people do notice when CEO’s of corporations take too much, I have known people to leave the corporate life over it. “The vow of poverty” you speak of is I believe the a part of holy orders in some catholic organizations. It has nothing to do with WOF. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that it is of the flesh to have a multi-million dollar mansion and a private jet and to see who is consumed by “fleshly thoughts”. As for God allowing it, He allows allot I suppose we can wonder at, but that does not make us right. You could say he allows children to die of starvation and for us to still live after sinning on a daily basis as well. I don’t believe the one thing has anything to do with the other. There is no way this is right. None. zero. Come on! Get real! Excuse me while I go bang my head against a wall.

  173. malc Says:

God says that those to who much is given much will be asked. Joyce gets a lot….But look at what she does with it!!!! She has inspired me to think more deeply about my beliefs and with a much greater confidence that before. I see God working in the everyday things in my life and I am greatful. For me it works and as the saying goes ‘if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it!

  174. deborah Says:

What about mike myers then? what a slithy tove, Oh how they all gyre and gimble….

  175. deborah nines Says:

i agree with the people that say that this is wrong….this is pornographic…obscene even. joyce meyer works very hard for what she has … compared to what she gives , it is pittance.
the outreach programs cost her ministry a big pile o money
the water wells in africa cost tons o money too…the list goes on and on…over 90 percent of that goes to helping other people…how much do we give ….certainly not 90 percent
were you the first one there for a massive disaster relief effort
like katrina or ike … j.m. ministries was the first ones there
with food and water , things to help these people , words to comfort them …how is this bad?

  176. Kevin at GodsDandruff.com Says:

Yup, Joyce deserves so much more than Jesus. She works so much harder than he did.

  177. J Rigsbee Says:

I just read that Joyce gives 10 % of her ministries money to her charities, that is not 80%. She gives 10% of the money from her misistries, I’ll say it again, 10% not 80 or 90%!!!!Do your homework!! It grieves my soul that the elderly and the poor think that they have to give to someone making 95 million a year to make God listen to them. David was rich, he was a king. Soloman was a king. They were from the old testament. In the new testament we are to give our excess to the poor. If we have two coats and we see a brother with no coat we are to give him one. I cannot find anywhere in the New Testament where it says you need 10s of millions of dollars for yourself when there are millions of people out there with nothing. I understand that lifestyle for non-christians, but not for Christians who see starving people throughout the world. I know a girl that went on one of Joyce Meyers trips to another country with her and Joyce put her name on one of the houses that they donated to the poor and that was all she talked about was her recognition. Jesus gave and healed and than told them to go and tell no one. He said to give without telling anyone. That your recognition would be here on earth if you told anyone what you gave. I guess Joyce is getting her reward here. That would scare me!! It is also scary for those who give her the reward for their salvation and who think that she is so great that they captilize her name instead of the name of our Lord. You don’t need Joyces books. Read your Bible. Jesus said it first!!! Save your money to give to the poor. Do you get the credit for her giving your money to the poor?? Or does she?? Especially when she keeps most of it for herself!! Let me say it again. Jesus said to give your money to the poor!!! Not to millionaires who live in million dollar homes!!

  178. 21:39 Says:

Why dos every one care about what shes wearing? God dosent even look at the out side. I personaly have never seen or herd her. but from what iv
been reading it appalls me that every one cares about where she lives and what she drives and how her hare is and what she wears. i mean how shallow can a person get?! That they look at what another person looks like and think that makes them evel. and just becouse she got a face lift and didnt tell every one and people saw her befor and after or what ever that was it just so stuped. and realy the Bible seas you can only judg somone if you are giltless. and who will throw the first stone? Who here has never told a lie ever about any thing? Or stolen any thing ANYTHING even the littlest things. Or coveted another persons belongings ANYTHING! The bible seas that only if you are inosent of thes things can you judge any one of them.
and who here has gone and talked to her and asked her about eny of thes things that every one talks about behind her back? you hiporcrits! ye jeneration of vipers!

  179. Steve Says:

You people are sad, judging her appearance like some how your style is superior, get off your high horse, maybe she has that beautiful compound, limos and millions of dollars because shes not wasting her time judging people but uplifting them, maybe just maybe you can pull your heads from your asses, yes, I said your asses, and finally realize its your own greed compelling to to talk about this nonsense

The only important thing is THE WORD, everything else is trivial, but you people sadly enough live for that

    Smh.. / uber facepalm

  180. AJ Says:

I have been a believer for 17 years, came from a radical drug addicted satanic back ground. I have seen a lot of people over the years try to not deal with God by condemning some in the church that have blown it. Please try to just look at God. There are rotten apples in every bunch but that is not God’s fault. Peace, AJ

  181. Malc Says:

I wonder what God thinks about all this bickering amoung his so called followers? I give to the Joyce Meyer ministeries and if she were misusing my gift, (WHICH I DON’T BELIEVE FOR A MOMENT), then God will deal with that, it does not take away from the fact I am giving for His greater glory. As for saying she gives only 10% of her income, how much do you give? and how much of her time is devoted to God, a lot more than mine, and I suspect a whole lot more than most people writing here.

  182. Shari Says:

This is ironic since at lunch I was just reading a chapter in one of her books about unity in the body of Christ and how very important that is and I see these blogs the same day!! All I have to say is Satan must be dancing with joy to see the mean spirited dialogue here. Are we not all brothers and sisters in Christ? How can a person call themselves a follower of Christ and say the things ya’all are saying?? Do you think Jesus would?? Seriously?? Comments about her hair?? Hunny if you were one of my kids and I heard that I would have to “Not spare the rod and spoil the child” if you get my drift. We can disagree that is called freedom but we do not have to be mean and hateful. Yes there are some bad people out there and I have one thing to say, stay away from them. Measure everything by the word of God and you will be ok. Jesus said the greatest commandments were to Love the Lord your God and Love your neighbor as yourself. He did not say only if they agree and look and do things like you want them to …He said Love them. I do not hear love here … I suggest if you think she is off in some areas then do as Christ would and pray for her.
But I must say after reading so much hate filled comments here, I am wondering if this blog is really a christian media at all but maybe a front for someone else….hmmmmm

  183. D'Angelo Says:

Who cares if she has all that nice stuff? She uses a lot of the money for preaching the Word to other countries. I know my bible as well. King David was a poor before he was a King, I’m sure Kings had much luxury back then. Please take the plank out of your eye before you start judging, only God justifies!

  184. rys Says:

Are you suggesting the we crown Ms. Meyer Queen? If I remember correctly David was the forefather of Jesus who lived very humbly and praised the humble. I think the book of Acts advocates the sharing of wealth as needed among believers. Paul was a tent maker as not to put a burden on anyone. I don’t care if she has nice stuff. I care that she has too much of it.

  185. rys Says:

    p.s.

What about the admirable example of Billy Graham who took as his salary the average of his church members income. I am sure he lives well and is well loved and never has caused this kind of contention.

  186. Meshallum Says:

WOW…no wonder the world does not want what we have…it looks too much like they already have and is not working in their lives. Why should they accept Jesus if this is how His people act towards one another? Since when is critisisms, mockery, finger pointing and name calling a fruit of the Spirit of God? How are precious Saviour must weep as He reads this foolishness. No wonder we do not operate at the rate of power we should…no unity, little love.
Just so you know, had it not been for Joyce Myers and her ministry, I would not be serving God today. You see, when I finally came to the end of myself 15 years ago after a decade of drug and alcohol abuse, and was seeking God, I refused to go inside a conventional church. You want to know why? It was because of childhood experiences with mean spirited “christians” like many I have read comments from here today. So I stayed home, prayed, read the written word and watched Joyce Myers on TV. And grew in the Lord. And after some time passed, I was strong enough to venture out… and God lead me to a local body where I could continue to grow in Him. I was delivered from Alcoholism, crack addiction, sex addiction, and a mainline meth addiction before I even went inside a church building. And Joyce’s teaching helped me to overcome. God says to judge a tree by it’s fruit. I think Joyce’s fruit speaks for itself. So what if she enjoys blessings???? She also supports many missionary projects all over the world, and soley supports SEVERAL orphanages, street outreaches, prison ministries, group homes…the list goes on. I see the Love of Christ there.

And in comparision, your fruit is….

Overcome evil with good, is how it reads, I believe. Do you pray for her “sins” or do you just point the finger? If it is as bad as you say, have you spent a night on your face begging for God’s mercy for her, calling out for Him to grant her the gift of repentance? Any one of you who had ugly negative vicious comments about her??? Somehow, I doubt it.
    I see nothing “good” here.
Repent my Brothers and sister, for the Kingdom of God is indeed at hand.

  187. Paula Says:

    Meshallum,
    Well said.

  188. Brian Bartimaeus Says:

    Hi Folks:

Just read how the First Church and the Apostles handled their money. They didn’t need earthly wealth. All of it was given to God. Jesus turned over the people’s tables that were making money in His house. The Bible does say not to muzzle the ox while treading the grain or plowing the fields but don’t build the plow out of gold and diamonds neither, okay! See how the First Church lives and they are Christ’s perfect example!

  189. juanita Says:

Why is it ok for Kimora Lee Simons and all these other celebs to live such lavish lifestyles but it’s not okay for “CHRISTIANS”.

I agree with Meshallum. So what if she enjoys the blessings God has given her. She also supports many missionary projects all over the world, and soley supports SEVERAL orphanages, street outreaches, prison ministries & group homes…

I suggest before posting anything else, you should do ALL your research!!!! Go to her conferences, read some of her books…i’m sure after u have done so, you will see things differently.

I’d love to see what “GOOD” you would do if you had that kind of money.

  190. Lizzie Says:

I happen to like Joyce Meyer’s preaching. It’s a “tell it like it is” kind of style that I need – I don’t need mushy. I download her free podcasts for the ride into work and they really do inspire me.

However, I was feeling a little guilty about listening to this for free and not sending in any money…until I saw this. Guilt no more. I’m sure she has some great books written in her same preaching style and I may pick up one or two copies. At Barnes & Noble. Why? Buying directly from her site gives her more money which she clearly doesn’t need.

I have no problem with people making a good living (and God bless her from rising from the ashes) but I think that if someone is always in the public eye, they need to be more careful. I started to get suspicious when she talked in her recordings about getting a personal trainer. Excuse me?? She couldn’t just say “I started to work out and it was tough but I plowed through it with support from my family etc etc”? The whole personal trainer thing could have been entirely left out. Some people like ot hear the sound of their own voice.

Meanwhile, my local church is struggling to keep its doors open.

  191. Shelly Says:

So if she wrote hundreds of books on lets say….cooking she would deserve the money more? She has written enough books and sold enough to afford her lifestyle. Just because it has to do with religion she doesn’t deserve it? Ministry set aside she is a talented writer and I’m thankful she uses that talent to spread the word to help others instead of some of the nonsense that is out there now.

As far as the ministry you must not be informed on all that they have done or this blog wouldn’t even exist.

Maybe spend more time learning a thing or two from those who are succesful instead of tearing them apart and you too may be a bit more content???

Don’t forget either this “compound” isn’t far off from what most working class can afford in Missouri. You get a lot more for your money in St. Louis and the cost of living is very good.

However if she was living in L.A. soaking up the sun doin it Diddy style I would have to say Go on Sistah you earned it…God Blessed You…Live it Up!!

If you still aren’t satisfied don’t give to her ministry. Problem solved. Or let it eat up at your spirit so much that you need to post here in the first place?

    LOL

  192. rys Says:

Working class people live close to this in St. Louis? LOL

  193. Richard Says:

Surely anyone who actually reads the Bible will understand that women are prohibited from preaching. This alone sends Joyce Meyer and any other of her satanic ilk to the fires of hell.

Paula White is another money grubbing woman preaching in spite of God’s prohibition of women preaching.

God said women are to be SILENT in the house of God, and to defer to their husbands on matters of the word of God.

As for her compound, I wonder how many of God’s chosen people she could return to Israel from the Soviet Union with the money she has wasted on her hellish compound?

Women who preach have the only reward they will have here on this earth. God certainly has no place set aside for them in His kingdom.

  194. PersonofConcern Says:

After all this, back and forth ad nauseum exchange, there is only a scintilla of topic matter and the ’same ole, same ole’ collection of words that we can trace back through history!

In all my dealings with many different kinds of self-proclaimed Christians, including those considered cults, even Satanist infiltrators and Christians at every level of maturity (or lack thereof), I have learned some basic truths. Without actually being in a place where the Holy (HOLY) Spirit has a chance to work, where the Love of GOD has taken hold, there is no possibility of real communication, or understanding!

For that reason I won’t bore you with a long run of scripture.

Like everything that proceeds from this earthly life, there are no new subjects, and no new arguments, and there are always, in this earthly setup, arguments and oppositions in place for every appearance of someting. I pray and hope all of us will continue until we are discouraged enough with our lot to not give up seeking Him because this will cause us to find Him as He promised.

These are the only scriptures I believe that have been so neglected, and so little inquiry has been spent on, that they warrant mention.

    God is Love (His definition)
    Faith works by love.
    Without works faith is dead.
Without faith (this living faith) you cannot please God.
    Love never fails.
We are knit together in love. (as one)
Everything amounts to nothing without love.

The Kingdom of God is built on love, and is held together by love, as we shall be. It is that love that sent Christ to us, overcame hell and leaves Satan speechless in the face of its working out through us in his domain. It is the essence of heaven on earth, Gods prayer request for us to entreat Him on.

The whole meaning of biblical judgment is to put things in order. We as truly following Chirst’s call, have the opportunity and the mandate to do that ourselves before it is turned over to Him what we fail to address. He can only gather unto himself that which is of Him, colored with His love.

For you and for Joyce and all others I pray this love to be invited in and “do its perfect work.” For when that perfect work of His love is accomplished, then the “imperfect shall pass away and we shall see Him as He is, face to face,” all things being revealed as they REALLY ARE – in the presence of that love.

None of us can be the source of that kind of vision, or able to have it communicated to us without the One living in us who IS the communicator, and not without us preparing a place for him. (…put away these things” …anger malice, jealousy, envy, bitterness, resentment, covetousness, greed, etc …and what do you have left? The essence, the Spirit of God, “who sheds abroad the love of God.”

May His love overtake you in the face of all the storms of life.

  195. John South Africa Says:

Wchurch you should rather use your time getting people saved. Maybe you rite maybe you wrong. Who are we to limit God for what he does for one other. Judge ment will come on the false profits one day. Pray for her everyday so God can save her. I love God and I think if someone loves God they can sell everything and know God can give it all back to them. I really wish that one of these pastors will give everything away what they have so that we can see how God gives it back to them. That is whey they should not fear as God has no limit to how much he loves us. The bibles says “DO NOT FEAR ” 372 times

Blessings to all and may you be reminded about the second commandmand and most of you have broken that very one hear

    sign

    John

  196. Jeffro Says:

Warren Buffett is setting a good example. The world’s second richest man lives in the same five-bedroom, gray stucco house he bought in 1958 for $31,500.

Buffett, 78, still calls his humble digs in Omaha, Neb.’s Happy Hollow suburb home, despite a $37 billion fortune.

I dont really care if Mrs Meyer owns an estate..its not going to change my life……..i have never… and never will donate a dime to those ministries……… I dont have to buy my way to heaven… I dont think God appreciates getting bribed either… But I think I can say without much doubt that she is “thankful” for all of her followers donations…….. Do you really think she cares about them??…….. Seriously….. do you???? She cares about material things, I think that is pretty obvious by the pics of her estate….and her family who she has set up……. and probably a few friends…….. If you read in Wikipedia you will see that she was a thief at an early age and you know what they say…….once a thief always a thief…… Oh ya, and she has had some tax issues also……

  197. Melinda Says:

All I know is that Joyce Meyer came here to Spokane and didn’t charge a penny to anyone wanting to come to her conference/??? Anyway..I thought that was unusual that no money would be charged for her being at the arena.. I guess ministry money paid for that too, huh..
Like someone else pointed out, Joyce writes a lot of books and I’m sure acquires lots of her wealth from the book she writes..
Well, I’m poor and lead a poor lifestyle..and I’m a sinner and will stand before God one day and face God’s judgment as will Joyce Meyer..

That’s all I have to say..

  198. BZTheVoice Says:

Like I said in another post; LIVE AND LET LIVE. GOD ALONE, will take care of the foul, if it exists, when He’s ready.

Thank you. Now I can finish watching Monk. Peace.

  199. ISeekTheTruth Says:

If Christians tithed faithfully and gave offerings at their local churches, then Joyce Myers Ministries would not be as wealthy as it is. The Bible teaches Christian to give to and be active in their local churches. Paul did not ask each church to send contributions to a centralized church or himself. Your contributions should be going to your local church. If you don’t have one, get out from in front of the TV (those of you who attend “church” via television) and join one. Learn what the church doctrine is and what the church teaches. Know the truth so that you don’t become fooled by the pastor and other teachers. Study your Bible daily, and ask God for understanding. The only persons who should be sending money to Joyce Myers Ministries are those who attend her church. I am a member of a local church. Why would I send my tithes and offerings and become a financial partner with someone else’s church? Is this the kingdom of God or Wall Street?

  200. Kristopher Says:

I am very happy for Joyce and I plan to make donations to her ministry. Her ministry does a lot within impacting the world and helping the needy and feeding the hungry. I don’t care what you think about her she is a child of God and is a great pastor.

God plans to bless everyone even you if you arent so scared to receive the blessing.

Come on it seems as if when someone gets blessed with amazing things we need to judge and say they are using the money wrong.

She wrote the books, she makes sacrifices for God, she gives every minute of her life to God and His kingdom, she helps the needy, and she has earned what she has. This was her money from her book, she doesnt receive a salary of any kind from Joyce Meyer Ministry or her Church she only lives off of the royalties from her books if she wants this to be her house then she should be able to. Give her privacy. Arent you suppose to be a Christian? Leave people alone.

  201. Paul Says:

God spoke of all these things to happen in the Bible (KGV) about the end times.

Lets not bash each other, but let us all get closer to Jesus Christ/God and know what is coming on the earth in 2009 to 2012.

All this is proven with science, prophecy and the word of God using the Bible.
The word of God is the best proof to confirm everything.

Before anyone goes to this web site below please pray this simple prayer FIRST and then God will hear and answer:

Dear Jesus Lord, please open my eyes, ears, mind and heart and show me what you want me to know and understand in this time I live in right now.

Now go and watch the videos and listen to audio’s and then afterwards go and read the word of God the Holy Bible (KGV) and god will open your eyes, ears, mind and heart with understanding.
If you do not understand the word of God Pray for God to open your mind and heart to understand his word.
Please follow only after God and never after any man or woman.

The videos and audio’s and be from a few minutes to over two hours long.

May the lord help us all in the future……

  202. Faith Says:

Jesus said a tree is known by it’s “fruit”. Since you claim to know the bible so well then you know that God looks at what’s in the heart of a man, thus what’s in the heart of a man will determine what the fruit will be. Your fruit is spewing juvenile insults and everything “evil” you can think of to say and what’s worse is that you blog your “hatred” all over the internet! What kind of message of Christ are YOU sending? Are you getting people saved? Are you feeding the poor? Are you helping to build orphanages? You are sewing discord among the brethen just as Satan did and that got him kicked out of heaven. You, like Satan are implying that you are some kind of god just like Satan thought because accoriding to you, anyone opposing YOUR view on this blog doesn’t know the bible. Satan knows the bible too ya know. So who’s side are you on? Is’nt it God’s place to judge what’s in a man’s heart? Did He appoint you to do “His” job?
All you people spewing your hatred on this blog should repent because God would never be on the side of people who tear others down. If you don’t agree with other christian’s lifestyles keep it to yourself. You’re bringing judgement on yourself by posting your slander all over the internet.
You would be doing good to work out your own salvation with FEAR AND TREMBLING and spend your time doing GOD’S will instead of fufilling the lust of your flesh. God have mercy on you and all who agree with you.
Dont bother responding to me because I won’t respond again. I stumbled across this blog and sorry I did. It’s anti-Christ.

  203. Chris Bronson Says:

Sad! Paul the Apostle made tents by hand to support himself! He never asked for anything while he was home!

  204. keith Says:

i think its sad that you christians get so caught up in sin that when your caught up in the sin you seem to go straight to caught into sin to absolute denial forget what the bible said forget what god supposedly said(which i think its a imaginary voice)you make a decision no matter what it is then you better show the example and admit to what you have dont instead of blaming the devil made you do it or your straight deny it

  205. Eric Says:

I will say this and it’s probably 100% on, the writer of this post probably considers themselves a Christian liberal, they are always shaking their finger at some.

  206. steve Says:

I have yet to know why televangelist not only have lucrative salaries as well as body guards…If they were as spiritual as they claim why not allow God to send his angels around about them like the prophet of old. I don’t find many ‘godly’ prophets or ministers who are willing to work for a decent salary like their parishioners; if they wanted the ‘comforts of the world’ why don’t they get out and get that type of job and then support a local minister and church ministry. The Gospel is ‘free’ so why do we always have to put such a price tag on making ourselves look like we deserve the better things while people are hungry, unhealthy, uneducated, without adequate housings, etc. I don’t think Jesus would have had these types of comforts while his children were begging for bread. The true aspect of ministry is not what I can get out of God but what can I do for God. Somewhere the tele-evangelists have gotten the idea that it is ‘by their works’ they prove God. Their works being their bank accounts and homes. I thought the Scriptures stated, where your heart is there is your treasure. I can tell whether the heart is focused on eternal issues or temporal comforts by the extravganza of these so called ministries. the real heros I think are people like the Salvation Army Officers who are paid descently but are not allowed no matter how important to ‘dip’ into the tills. I even liked Billy Graham’s idea that he would not receive more just because his organization was growing but would put back into the ministry. He may have some faults too but his policy was still in effect the last I heard.

  207. timothy j clark Says:

JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED

    JESUS CHRIST IS OUR SALVATION

    LEAVE JOYCE MEYERS ALONE

WHO THE &^&%%*(&( ARE ANY OF YOU PEOPLE TO JUDGE HER MINISTRY?

  208. keith Says:

i just received a email from someone who quote scripture and says lay off joyce myers.let me make this very clear.im not bashing ms myers she isnt behind this crime.i think its pretty obvious what happened.its not ms myers fault that the person who has been arrested for this crime work with the ministry.and think everybody is missing the most important thing in this whole tradegy is that 2 very beautiful children and 1 very beautiful lady was brutally killed.and i think we need to think them and the families of these people.im sure no one would ever thought this could happen.forget the ministry forget the person who is responsible for this murder.and think about the people who are left behind and have to deal with what has happen.

  209. beatrice Says:

but what if joyce could have prevented this? he worked for her. she or others didnt notice his “friend” on trips? he resigned, forced i am sure. for moral clauses that he broke. which would be infidelity. i just cant believe that jmm employees didnt notice. maybe if they had, it could have been prevented. but hingsight is 20/20 and if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

  210. keith Says:

well to be totally honest with i dont consider myself a christian.the reason i dont blame the jmm is cause i personally believe they dont care.my definetion of religious leader is a belief system built around ones physical, economical, and psychological needs.most preachers try to fill up their churches so they can get more money in the offering plates.the fact of the matter of in most church and religious organization the so called leader of the organization is so business on themselves they dont have time to think of anything else but themselves.call me brash but i use to be in the ministry and that what i just post above is the main reason why i got out and threats on my family is the reason i decided to live another life than christianity and to tell you the truth the life i live now is alot more moral the most of the minister who are in my area now excuse me for being so blunt

  211. Gitan Says:

Sadly there are a lot of fake preachers, we may never know who is real. God is real, whatever we do financially for any ministry or church, God knows.
Good and evil exist, if anyone can make people understand hell is real, so be it. I was raised catholic, and had no idea about God’s word.
Just the stories from the bible. I knew every word the priest woul ritually speak each mass time. My experience with knowing about God from a priest, would have led me straight to hell. “I Thank God i now know different!” People i was saved from a very bad life. I have family who think they are their own God. I have seen evil first hand, the evil that stands right next to us and most cannot see. Joyce meyer speaks a lot of bilical truth more so than most, she has to answer to God like us all. If anyone here has children and has no faith in God, I ask they not instill their disbelief in a child. It is so unfair!. Sorry if i offended anyone GOD BLESS ALL

  212. keith Says:

well let me tell you this.after what i saw last night on the nancy grace show and a few other news sight on tv and local tv makes me absolutely sick.taking an offering at a funeral COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just buried my dad on the 3rd of june and you think the thought of my family taking an offering.NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these people are absolutely sick, selfish, and absolutely no good.what ever church or religion organization should be shut down immediately.A MOTHER AND 2 LITTLE BOYS WHERE MURDERED AND ALL THIS GUYS FAMILY IS THINKING ABOUT IS RAISING MONEY FOR THIS GUYS OFFENCE.THIS GUY DONT DESERVE A OFFENSE.you christians makes me want to go to my bathroom and throw up there is no morals in the christian church.

  213. beatrice Says:

any company that you work for, that has a no divorce clause…come on! open your eyes! the only way this scumbag could keep his job at the “religious institute” of JMM is by being a widower…so he killed his family, o woe is me, beat my breast, im a poor widower, my family was killed, so he gets to keep his lousy job and go on with life with the mistress, go figure. well, he didnt figure the police were smarter than him, and i still hold to the fact that if jmm didnt have the no divorce policy for employees then he wouldnt have killed them@

  214. keith Says:

i am aware that not only my company has divorce in it.i myself is a divorcee an i am also a single parent of both of them.u have sole custody of them.BUT i will never kill them i love them too much.never will i make a lady become more important than them.that is why i remain single.let me make this clear.i work for no religious organization.i work for no church.i live in the real world.u go to work 5 to 6 days a week and pay my own bills.i dont rely on something i cant see or think i hear.and im not a christian.let me make this very clear before you all start trying to judge me.i dont drink alcohol.i dont do drugs.i know how you christian like to talk about something you dont even know about.but let me make this also clear.i will never put myself in a situation where i decide to murder someone.

  215. beatrice Says:

keith that made no sense…and gitan are you saying we should be hypocrits? well we (non xn), would then be more xn!
i have done my research. jmm and benny hinn and the 700 club. all of them are fakers! all these televised “healers” are fakers. as a child i was taken to a “tv healer”. what a crock! and if you read jm’s books tapes conferences etc. she takes a little of everything and mixes it together to make her brand of chicken soup. its just a way to make money. she wasnt getting a big enough cut from the life christian church, so she went out on her own.

and if there are such things as healers who lay their hands on you and you are instantly healed, i will bet you a grand that they arent on t.v.

i have watched a jmm episode (cant call it religion), where she had a “doctor” on who talked about the correct way to breathe…take a yoga class! you can learn the same thing, and it will be better for you!!! you wont be giving your money to a religioulous whore, and it will go to an average person who is teaching you something HEALTHFUL!

    HOLY LAUGHTER:

HOLY LAUGHTER: if you have read the bible it will tell you to NOT over indulge in anthing. so if you are “drunk on laughter” then you have overindulged. guess you can just get rebaptized and your forgiven huh?

  217. keith Says:

ummmmmmmmmmmm we are talking about a mother and 2 children being murdered.have we forgotten.and about nothing i said not making sense.not alot make sense to you christians make sense coming from a non christians.cause you have such a narrow frame of mind.

  218. beatrice Says:

guess what keith? i can tell english isnt your first language. so i will spell it out for you… eye am knot a christian.

  219. beatrice Says:

jm tells this story often and it tickles me silly.here goes
    this is not verbatim!

‘jm is in a resturant having dinner. she looks around and sees a family she knows. as she is leaving she pays their bill…because she can do that”

now, how is that helping those in need? is it really charity if the people could have afforded their own meal? after all, they were in the resturant eating…which would mean that they have money in their pocket or on their credit card to pay the bill.
    but.
if you make a box of sandwiches and a pot of soup, and head down to the local tent city, and ladle out soup and sandwiches to all comers…
which is charity is my question.
which is the TRUE good deed?

  220. keith Says:

i can see you also have trouble dealing with stress lol

  221. beatrice Says:

not really keith, but i do have a problem with someone who writes disjointedly, and has a passing acquaintance with syntax. and since english isnt your first language you should write better than those that grew up speaking english slang.

  222. Cris tine Says:

Joyce is another one of Satans whores working the deceived masses within the false church; teaching that “gain is godliness” especially her own gain of material wealth. She also leads women to elevate the flesh and have a carnal minded way of life. She is haughty and arrogant.

  223. keith Says:

its not about joyce we all know what she is in this business for for money lets not give her the time of day of using her name on anymore of these websites she dont deserve it we should be using this website as a memory of the three who where brutally murdered and nothing else

  224. kathryn Says:

She has helped me turn my life around.

  225. keith Says:

how much money did you give and how often do you talk to that imaginary speck on the ceiling.if it answers back you might want to think about hiring a shrink cause that voice you hear coming from the walls is a lie just like the rest of christianity.

  226. beatrice Says:

this forum was started to point out the whoring of the jmm. it was not created as a memorial for the murdered family. check the post dispatch for that.

  227. keith Says:

what is more important beatrice the whoring of the jmm or the security guard who worked as a security guard for jmm who killed his family cause he wanted to be free and marry and girl in florida that the problem with this world we know how people in a major religious organization but we wont dig deeper into some of the crime that is done by a worker who is in the ministry and jesus christ during the funeral his father is also a preacher who needs to be kicked out of the ministry takes up and offering for his sons case its all about the money and covering up the transgretions of high ranking members of the religious organzation and church do you think they will take time and raise money for mr poor man or girl no so lets forget jmm for a little bit and reflect on the family if you dont want too then you can ban me from the room i dont care

  228. beatrice Says:

well i believe correct forums for correct discussions. since this one was started years ago about jmm then i believe it should stick that way. go over to stltoday and read all the info there. they have the pdf on the arrest warrants and everything. the only thing anyone here is saying is its sad. go read the evidence. there is none here.

  229. keith Says:

jesus who cares what this forum is its safe to say you need to get your head out of your ass and get some fresh air

  230. TC Says:

    Back to Joyce.
I do not attend regularly any formal church services, but still call myself a follower of Christ. Joyce is getting rich off others ignorance. Anyone that doesn’t get it is two bricks shy of a full load. But, is the Roman Catholic church any different? The last time I looked the Vatican was an OK place to live with all it’s Accountants and lavish artwork. This while it’s members are starving in third world countries. The main reason for that is because of the lack of the belief in birth control and the belief that large families make you closer to God. In truth this stems back to early times in the church when corrupt Popes were making more money the more members it had. It had nothing to do with God. This is an outdated practice and will eventually affect their bottom line, because most new Catholics are poverty level.
Come on people get a clue, organized religion has turned into a money making business for the greedy people of the world and has nothing to do with the true meaning of the teachings of Christ. Individual hearts and souls are the true body of Christ. If you want to give to help others there is no need for a middle man that takes most of the money. There are several organizations that you can donate to that do not get rich off others, but are there for the main purpose of helping others.

  231. Bainn Says:

I think most people take exception to a wealthy preacher, but I would like to reference the following scripture which highlights a believer’s ability to be wealthy in this world and rich in heaven. The two are not mutually exclusive.

‘Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.’ (1 Timothy 6:17-19)

It’s important to note that Joyce is the author of several international best sellers (translated into 79 languages). Doesn’t that entitle her to an income just like any other writer? What’s more, these books are written to help people battling a myriad of conditions. Conversely, take a second to consider Satan’s prolific authors writing selfish and depraved scripts for the masses. I’m sure they make a very pleasing income, but somehow they’re except from the same scrutiny. When you stop to consider that, it’s quite bizarre.

Joyce’s critics would have you overlook her international ministries which directly aid the poor, underprivileged or abused (ie Hand of Hope). Put simply, this requires money to fund medical care, food and shelter, logistics, etc etc). I’d wager an extreme list of non-public needs Joyce directly invests into which we’ll never hear about.

    Jesus said…

‘Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.’ (Matthew 7:15-20)

Through Joyce Meyer’s ministry, the Good News is being preached throughout the world (27 different countries), from secular TV to Arab nations in the Middle East. Here’s a basic list: http://www.joycemeyer.org/OurMinistries/HandofHope/Outreaches/ataglance.htm

If you’re looking for a sinless teacher, you’ll never find one (beside Jesus). The Christian, non-believer and preacher alike have all done wrong and need God’s grace and mercy.

    God bless.

  232. beatrice Says:

i doubt if jesus would have been jetting around in a gulf stream. but doesnt the bible also state “dont stand on street corners in sack cloth and ashes proclaiming your pioty, go home and close the door and pray in private:

  233. freshly blessed Says:

I have been listening to Joyce Meyers for about 4 months now. I watch her program online at her website. For those of you who know how to google….. look up her profit, how it’s spent, and the great things that she has done with it. Her living expensce come from the selling of her many books, that often, if you visit her page, she is giving some away for free. She is a great women that helps a lot of people.
    Romans 2:1
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

yes she does great works around the world. like the kids that drowned from the dream center, because they didnt hire enough adults to watch the kids. or the fact that her ministry hired a CONVICTED CHILD MOLESTER to work in the YOUTH MINISTRY. thats real smart right there. and now, her chief of security, is in jail for the triple murder of his family. great back ground checks there jmm. shes a con artist just like all the other televangalists.

  235. SSIMPSON Says:

Beatrice, you say you are not a Christian, and that you do not care for Joyce Meyer…. hmmm. That just makes us believe she is being used by our Lord all the more :) Ironic, yes? God is awesome like that. Check out how they treated Jesus in the Bible.

BTW God doesn’t measure sin, so murder, gossip, hatred, judging, etc……they all keep us the same distance apart from God. Only through faith in God, and belief that He gave His son to die for your sin(s) will you finally find “the peace that passes all understanding” that your soul is seeking.

God is big enough to be tested….give Him a try, you would not believe the joy you will experience! He is very patient and He loves you the most!

  236. beatrice Says:

being used all the more because im not a xn? what to bilk more money from xn’s? that doesnt make much sense. and i am not a sinner. i dont believe in original sin. and i have read the bible, 12 years of daily mass and religion classes taught me very much. also the catecism in lutheran school. but you yourself need to go back and check with jm. shes not a sinner either.

ummm…what the heck was that last comment? learn to spell and learn what a run on sentence is. when you can type comprensively i will pay attention to what you say. but until then, i wont. the jmm is a cult plain and simple. yes sure she does some good deads. but jm doesnt really teach the bible.

remember in the bible it talks about the money changers on the temple steps? and how jesus reacted?

jm is a money changer! can you dig it? i knew that you could.

  240. tclaussen Says:

You people just don’t get it. If you can’t take the time to write English in it’s correct form, then what is the point? No wonder our kids are illiterate and will eventually have no idea of how to survive in this global world. I don’t text message and so maybe that is why I still write correspondence in a manner conducive to what I’ve learned and should be taught to our kids in this day and age. I believe the way text messaging is sent doesn’t come from saving time (as many proclaim) but from the lack of proper training in the school systems. Just as the last person was lazy in her comments that lacked capitalization and other errors in grammar (but yet still complained about others) so are most of the other comments I have read.
As for jmm, if you want to give to someone that is getting rich off of your offerings than go for it. I’ve listened to her rantings and look into her eyes and see dollar signs. If you want to believe in her and you think it helps, then go get it. I personally have a one to one relationship with the father and don’t need any outside mediator to conduct my business with him.
In closing, the end is near so make sure you know who you are following. The devil is close at hand and those so called self-proclaimed prophets you are following may not be who you expect them to be at the end.
    God bless you.

Too many responses between then and now for me to possibly know whether this has been said or not, but early on in the exchange lauriekendrick said, in comparison to Joyce Meyer that Cathlic priests and nuns take vows of poverty. Not exactly…

Nuns and monks take such vows. But priests, in general, do not. In the town where I lived prior to where I do now, the priest came up against a lot of community misunderstanding because, in addition to his income as a priest, he earned a somewhat substantial living as a landlord. He was no Bill Gates, but he made plenty of money off of his tenants. And people mistakenly thought he was, more or less, double dipping.

Later some of his business practices came to light as less than fully legitimate. But that had nothing to do with his being a priest who was also in business for himself…

  246. M. Morgan Says:

Go to http://joycemeyer.org/AboutUs/annualreport/ to see they spend their money. They have always been transparent about it as far as I know. Alot of rumors go around about anyone who preaches the Word of God. I have never heard Joyce called a reverend until I saw this page, and I have listened to her on and off for years. I am a very careful person and checked her out online. She and her family live in nice homes, but the kids homes are that exceptional according to land/house values. The entire family works hard for the ministry, which benefits millions of people with food, homes, wells, medical care, schools, orphanages and more. Where are they supposed to live, under a rock? And if you work as hard as Joyce and Dave do, and raise all the money to sponsor 40-some orphanages and feed the millions of people that they do on a yearly basis, then yes they should have a nice home to rest up in. You really have to research this more, and think about it before you JUDGE. :) Check out the link I posted in the beginning of this response and check out where the money goes. They hide nothing.

  247. M. Morgan Says:

Sorry about the spelling errors in my post above. I should have done a spellcheck!! ARGH!

  248. Jackie Says:

Meyer is a heretic, plain and simple.

Anyone defending her is, well, defending Satan.

They clearly don’t know Christ, God, or the Bible if they can’t recognize a heretic when she’s up there spewing heresy.

  249. charfire Says:

Satan’s a pretty funny guy ,but evil and ready to kill your soul , proven by this website. Anyone who falls for this satanic garbage against Joyce Myer is doing the clown bidding of a hater of Christians. Some of the blogging is so ridiculous it’s absurdly funny. A lot of you Joyce haters claim to read the BIBLE and that’s the problem. There isn’t any hate in God’s Love, only Satan hates .He is hate . You can only read the Bible through the spirit of God not your spirit. Try reading through his understanding and you will be ashamed how Satan tricked you into believing a Godly person such as Joyce Myer is actually the devil and he Satan is your friend and teacher. May God give you understanding and wisdom . Repent or face Hell and live everlasting with the Clown Prince Satan ! It’s up to you .

  250. beatrice Says:

lots of hate in the bible. read the old testament. and?? wasnt jesus himself hated? but then im just a pagan that doesnt like televangalists that assist in breaking marriage vows, and ripping off the mentally ill.
